The Feeding of the 5000-Crass

The (in)famous anarcho punk band's debut I believe, but I could be wrong. The playing is very sloppy and the production is cheap sounding, but it's punk rock that's the point

FLEETWOOD MAC - Rumours....released February 1977

From the vinyl vault one of the most popular albums ever recorded ! Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie just seem to click beautifully on this disque. Lindsey Buckingham's superb guitar playing and vocals embellish the mix with Mick Fleetwood on percussion and John McVie on bass.

This album and its' several singles were somewhat overplayed through all of 1977. To tell you the truth I got sick of it...but now I feel like I'm visiting an old friend !

Flawless album with no weak tracks !

CAKE "fashion nugget" cd,1996.

pretty hard to describe these guys fully as they mix hip hop, funk, soul, latino, pop, rock and jazz all into one album, sometimes more than several of those genres into a single track, which at times makes it difficult to focus without getting slightly confused and inundated with the different sounds.
have three of these guys records...this one, their debut and another that has "short skirt, long jacket" on???!!!
hard to know sometimes if they are serious musicians or just lighthearted college boys taking the piss out of music!
two covers on this one...I Will Survive & Perhaps,Perhaps,Perhaps, both of which are reasonable efforts if simply for the lyric changes and alternative beats.
nothing bad on here, but at the same time nothing great neither....just a steady album of fourteen tracks i like...thus the rating comes out at an even 2.0, strangely enough allmusic rate this one 4/5 (2.4)...i wouldnt go as far as that, but hey....who am i?!
below are several links to tracks from here to give you an idea about the album....

GRINDERMAN "grinderman 2" cd,2010.

did this one as a new release when it came out...sadly the last year and a bit has dimmed my view of this one....
its Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds under a psuedenym....
the music is a lot heavier than what we have become used to with Cave...its a lot heavier in terms of guitars, sort of grunge meets krautrock and psychadelia.
lyrically it is still typically cryptic Cave, its also still very dark in subject matter.
it is not a great Nick Cave album, but it is still pretty good and it is all there is until the Bad Seeds drop another one on us later in 2012....

What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 16-01-2012

Debut album from 1988.

Luxuria was one of Howard Devoto's post-Magazine ventures, and seems to be a personal favourite of his. He teamed up with guitarist Noko (Norman Fisher-Jones), and released two albums of material that didn't differ too much from the Magazine blueprint, except insofar as there was a definite nod in the direction of Synth-Pop.

Devoto's lyrics are as literate & enigmatic as ever, and the album is good.

This album is part of a 3-disc set, containing both of their studio albums, plus a bonus live disc. More to follow...

RoviMusic 3/5 stars.

Great band Tiggi! I loved both of the Luxuria albums.

Devoto's a bit of a favourite of mine. Haven't heard much that he's been involved with that isn't brilliant.

Iggy surprised me once again with this one. Just did the follow up to this one a while back. That was Instinct and
I liked it quite well. This one comes out even higher. This is Iggy's seventh solo effort, and I'm thinking the
presence of David Bowie as produer has a lot to do with this being as good as it is. Some of these tracks sound
like they could be straight off a Bowie album from that period. All tracks but three are co-written by the two, and
two of those are written with Steve Jones. The best for me is the only track not written by one of those three, but
by Aussie rocker Johnny O'Keefe, Real Wild Child, of which I am still trying to block out the American Idol
performance of a couple years back. One song here, the title track, just doesn't fit, and I did not like at all.
Other than that, some nice depth to the music here, which you wouldn't expect from Iggy. This was indeed his most
commercially successful album even though it only reached #90 in the states and slightly better in the U.K. at #43.
That was good for an Iggy album. The Real Wild Child single was a #10 hit in the UK. If you're expecting punk,
don't look here. Iggy had gone mainstream.

Johnny O'Keefe was apparently the Aussie "king of rock n roll"....never did care for him much, started around the same time as Elvis, got the same nickname and did in the same year...freaky to say the least!

for anyone interested in the original Real Wild Child....
