my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 20-09-2013 THE CLASH "stand by me(train in vain)" b/w "bankrobber" and "rockers galore" 1980 another single off the classic "london calling" album that failed to chart here... love 'stand by me' and 'bankrobber', the third track 'rockers galore' is also pretty good... Neil's is okay, but these guys version is brilliant IMO...superb choice of song and the arrangement is perfect.. "b" side doenst make the grade, well honestly, what could when going back to back with a classic like the "a" side.. single got to #2 here but probably deserved a top spot finish IMO... "hiding out" could almost be a Who track IMO, the "a" side is great jazzy-rock with lots of brass...cool stuff single got to #9 here "face the face" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_N2kJg29v4 video "hiding out" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vmJtmlKVqQ audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 22-09-2013 THE JAM "live!-ep" 1983 a live ep containing four tracks from their final UK tour prior to splitting up, ep wasa free give-away disc for the first few thousand copies of their double vinyl best of set called "snap!"... track #1 is a very good cover of the Curtis Mayfield classic track #2 is a Small Faces cover tracks #3/4 are Weller written songs,#3 being a "b" side of a single, #4, ana blum track from their 1980 'sound affects' album... very good single/ep showing why The Jam were the UK's premier live act from 1977-82 as a give away disc this didnt chart on the singles chart! "a" side is about the sinking of the titanic, this is a rock classic IMO probably the best song ive ever heard about that tragedy! "b" side is a piece of crap, but the "A" side makes up for it... sinlge got to #4 here back in the day!
