Politics - Lovely Linda - 11-02-2017 AS I have said I am a conservative but am a member of Obamacare. We can Not get Medicaid and be a member of the ACA. We can not be hooked up with Medicaid and still be in the AHC system. That is why my hubby can not get into the AHC system. He has that little help from Medicare. I talk to the Marketplace (AHC) regularly. I know this to be a fact. Medicaid and the AHC system have nothing to do with one another. That is why I probably will be looking for the hubby some Medicaid. Politics - Lovely Linda - 11-02-2017 The Marketplace has assured me the Supreme Court has put into place a law that will protect Obamacare. Maybe Trump should check this out. All Repubs are not against the AHC system! It has helped me even though some states have their flaws. The insurance companies are to blame for some of the flaws as are the drug manufactures who keep raising their cost. But not every state has it. Can you explain this for me then? http://www.ncsl.org/research/health/affordable-care-act-expansion.aspx North Carolina doesn't either. Politics - Lovely Linda - 11-02-2017 I have not looked at the links because I get my info from the Marketplace. In other words, the horse's mouth. I asked them about my hubby and they said no matter what help from the government as little as it is he can not apply for the AHC system. Medicaid is free. Obamacare is not. The Marketplace is in Kentucky. Politics - Lovely Linda - 11-02-2017 Once you get a final determination that you're eligible for Medicaid or the Childrenâs Health Insurance Program (CHIP) that counts as qualifying health coverage (or "minimum essential coverage"):
Politics - Oceansoul - 11-02-2017 Lovely Linda Wrote:I have not looked at the links because I get my info from the Marketplace. In other words, the horse's mouth.Well, never mind then. I did try to get the ACA and was told that I don't qualify and if Missouri had accepted the Medicaid expansion option from the ACA, then I would have coverage. It would be free for me or of low cost to me otherwise. My Mom was told that too. *Shrugs* That option would have extended coverage to people under 65 and under the Federal Poverty Level. Politics - Lovely Linda - 11-02-2017 [h=2]You may get a notice from the Marketplace[/h]If our records show youâre enrolled in both a Marketplace plan with premium tax credits or other cost savings and Medicaid or CHIP â something we check a few times a year â you may get a notice in the mail that lists the household members who are enrolled in both kinds of coverage. The notice explains what to do next.
IMPORTANT Take action by the date indicated on your notice (within 30 days). If youâre enrolled in a Marketplace plan and get help paying for coverage, you should end your enrollment. If you choose to stay enrolled in a Marketplace plan, the Marketplace will recalculate your eligibility for this financial help. Which means it is one or the other. If we have Medicaid the Marketplace will not pray. My hubby is over 65 and he can not have both. If he is lucky enough to get Medicaid however, he would be better off. His costs would be zero.
Politics - Lovely Linda - 11-02-2017 If we have Medicaid the Marketplace will not pray. They won't pay either  Politics - Oceansoul - 11-02-2017 The Affordable Care Act actually refers to two separate pieces of legislation â the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (P.L. 111-148) and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (P.L. 111-152) â that, together expand Medicaid coverage to millions of low-income Americans and makes numerous improvements to both Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). https://www.medicaid.gov/affordable-care-act/index.html The Supreme Court decided that the Medicaid expansion portion should be a state option. Good enough. As long as we agree they are separate. Thanks Oceansoul. |
