Elvis's 13th album and he still has it. Not many artists can say that. Still lacking the respect on these shores
that he had across the pond. Dumb americans. Two McCartney collaborations here with Playboy To A Man and So Like
Candy. The latter one of the six love tracks for me. Favorite is All Grown Up (no clip), which I remember playing
for my daughter on her 18th birthday, with tears from both. She won't remember it, I always will. Enough of that
crap, damn wimp. It's a friggin song, get over it. Worst goes to the short Couldn't Call It Unexpected No. 2. Hey,
they list it, I grade it. Then we have the closer Couldn't Call It Unexpected No. 4. Not sure what happened to
numbers 1 and 3. Whoa, that was totally unexpected. Surprised to see allmusic really cut this one down. Stupid
professionals. The album reached #55 here and #5 in the UK. Single of The Other Side Of Summer got #43 UK and
nowhere here and So Like Candy was a non-charter in both. Apparently youtube users didn't care for this either, as
only 4 of the 14 tracks are available. Idiot youtube users.

That's so creepy you posted about it cos my mate only lended me the album last week! Very good stuff from Blixa Bargeld's group although I am intriguied to hear the earlier/heavier stuff.

eHer 2011 debut.
Picked this one up from a magazine review, which mentioned a similarity to PJ Harvey, and some glowing views from Brian Eno who played and sung a bit part on the album.
I can hear the similarity to Polly, and there's a bit of Siouxsie Sioux in her voice, but it's her reverbed semi-acoustic guitar that made an instant impression on me. The music's good, and the whole has that PJ darkness to it that I love. Blew Mrs Tiggi away !!
Like this one. A lot...
Checking back, Crazyman posted about this album months ago. I'm behind the curve, as usual...
RoviMusic (AllMusic in better clothes. The same site in a different skin, it seems. And it features predictive typing so you don't have to type in a full artist's name...) 4/5 stars.

The groups fifth album and highest charting to date, as they slowly made their ascension to household name status.
The last album released on I.R.S. being switching to mainstream WB. Most would call that a bad thing but their est
was yet to come for me. Nothing wrong with the early albums either and this one stands up well. First one produced
by Scott Litt with who the band had a long term relationship. Includes their first top ten hit of The One I Love.
That song has a nice enough sound, but is about as weak as you can get lyrically, proving music wins out over
lyrics with the masses. Always loved It's The End Of The World but Oddfellows Local 151 comes out best for me on
this listen with that Sonic Youth guitar sound. Fireplace was the only dud, that sax doesn't work. Although the
band was always political, this one seems to be more so than the previous releases, as Stipes dislike of Reagan
sets in. Conservatism doesn't set well in the entertainment industry. The album ws the groups first platinum
selling reaching #10 in the US and #28 in the UK.
