Which decade has better music? - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-05-2014 savvy is a good word to describe Jerome IMO Which decade has better music? - SteveO - 07-05-2014 Exactly Complex ! You have to look for it! It won't be on the commercial top 40 charts for the most part!(although there are some good bands/artists that have huge sales). Complexterms Wrote:This depends entirely on preference. Every decade has amazing music and terrible tunes, which is why I can't stick to one single era. Which decade has better music? - pbrocker - 21-05-2014 Well, it's a toss-up between the 60s and 70s. The 60s had the 'British Invasion', the Beatles, Stones, the Who, Zeppelin, CCR, Hendrix, the Doors, while the 70s had the best of Pink Floyd, Queen, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Elton John, Clapton, etc. I think Rock sort of died in mid-90s, after the demise of Guns N' Roses. From short Board acquaintance, an excellent description of Jerome. Which decade has better music? - musitron - 27-05-2014 Hard to say but the worst was 80's Which decade has better music? - Liberian Girl - 28-05-2014 My fav decade is undoubtedly the 70's. I think musical creativity reached its highest peak at that time, the best albums came out or at least my fav ones. To mention some classics, Maggot Brain, Bitches Brew, What's Going On, Dark Side of the Moon or Who's Next are immortal, and albums such as Aqualung, Tago Mago, Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd or Funhouse are masterpieces for me. And I could go on. However, I must say there wouldn't be 70's without 60's. I could say 60's was the basis but I think this decade is as huge as 70's. Maybe even a bit better. But 70's just touch my heart. 80's sound too commercial for me but I must say there're some great stuff there. 90's are a little more interesting and currently I'm trying to get more into it. PS: Sorry if I comete mistakes when writing, English is not my mother tongue. Which decade has better music? - Im_over_there - 19-06-2014 Each decade had their share of fantastic music but I believe the '60's was the best for me... The Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan (he evolved like none other imo), the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin.... Aretha... so many... all paved the way for so many great artists. |
