Classical influences in modern genres... - trbc08 - 29-07-2008 I also love the score to The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Post-rock is the best thing for rock since... Since... I don't even know! I'm just glad something good is happening to rock in the 2000's. I also think doom is cool. I didn't know Kayo Dot was considered doom though, but I've only heard a few songs. I really want to buy one of their albums so I can give it a comprehensive listen while I go walking... Maybe maudlin Of The Well too. Classical influences in modern genres... - didgeridoo - 25-05-2011 To be quite grandiloquent about it, the whole genre of chamber pop owes its existence to Baroque music. (And to J.S. Bach in particular.) An obvious example is not far to seek - everybody knows Arcade Fire. |
