The Grateful Dead...a group that escaped me ! - SteveO - 18-11-2011 Wow !!!! what can I say ! great listening ahead for weeks !!!! Tiggi is there an artist you didn'i pay much attention to and revisited them on a different plane or appreciation recently ? Tiggi Wrote:Regarding the Grateful Dead, I tend to think the experience is by far the best on their live albums. If ever there was a band that changed their setlist more or less every night, and then hardly ever played a song the same way twice, it has to be the Dead. They improvised extensively, and although none of them were ever very strong vocally, the way they played together was something special. Though my favorite piece by CCR isn't even original. I love their cover of I Heard It Through the Grapevine. I thought it was a really good jam that built off of Marvin Gaye's version with Fogerty really flexing his vocal chords. |
