Australian singers - jazzboCR - 13-08-2014 Human Nature First of all, shame on Aussie admins for not heralding this brilliant a capella Doo-Wop group. Second, Kerry101's slap to the contrary, this mature singing and "boyband" stuff are a world apart. Please listen to more doo-wop to learn the difference. Putting my money where my mouth is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h88syTuSQRM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCHo8ClU4lQ << if this doesn't thrill and chill you, then we're not talking the same language << If Smokey's happy, I'm happy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmwLf_FVq-0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HCTIHISVjM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x5358qIYCY << sho' 'nuff a Texas woman--they know what they want and aren't shy about going after it. Brenda wasn't embarrassed and they all had a real good time. Australian singers - flautist - 13-08-2014 Rose Tattoo great band but sad story: "Six former members have died in recent years including four of the original recording line-up" For me, Wolfmother: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQK8_1lCi3o Australian singers - SteveO - 13-08-2014 I still love the in your face music of ACDC !!!! RIP Laura. Australian singers - jazzboCR - 14-08-2014 dylan87 Wrote:interesting...only 2 australian singers in this list... What is meant by "Australian singer"? An immigrant bunch that settled and wholly worked in Australia? Or only the native-born? Or a singer/group that had to leave Down Under to find bigger, more-permanent success? Big difference...actually ALL the difference. Australian singers - CRAZY-HORSE - 14-08-2014 so what youre saying jazzbo is.........? Australian singers - jazzboCR - 14-08-2014 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:so what youre saying jazzbo is.........? Hey Bro, it's not up to me to define the term, but it's good when there's a standard of reference, where folks are on the same page talking about the same thing. I'd have the same issue if we were speaking of Argentinian physicists...Up to the age of 2, you could call me a German baby, 'cuz 3/4 of my life to that point was spent there (as a military dependent)--even gurgled in German or so I'm told. I'm being a bit silly here but you get the point. By some definitions, you don't even have to speak a country's native language or speak it fluently (someone living/singing in a large, wholly-ethnic community within a country--Italians in New York City or Scandinavians in the Upper Midwest, e.g. Listen to Lawrence Welk's accent and tell me his first language is English, yet you'd look hard to find a more American artist.). Whoo, boy, did I string this out... Australian singers - CRAZY-HORSE - 15-08-2014 i agree... Neil Young...spent over fifty years living in California and still regards himself as Canadian...i also think of him as Canadian Arnold Schwartzeneger...3/4 of his life in the US...i refer to him as being Austrian, not sure how he regards himself? Bee Gees...toddlers when they left the UK to Australia, lived in Florida since the late 1970s, always call themsleves Australian Rolf Harris...spent over sixty of his eighty odd years in the UK, but still referred to as being Australian by the Brits and us??? Crazy-Horse...left the UK aged nine, spent over 3/4 of my life in Australian, i consider myself Australian i guess its different strokes...... |
