I voted for their eponymous debut album. I just think it is a magnificent introduction to the band with some of their best songs - Take It Easy, Peaceful Easy Feeling and Witchy Woman. But, all of their albums are great and they have so many timeless songs spread across their discography. I really like Desperado as an album, it is really nice to chill out to and it has some of my favourite songs on it - Desperado, Tequila Sunrise and Certain Kind of Fool. It surprises most people when I say that Hotel California would only be 3rd out of the Eagles albums. It's not that I don't like it, I absolutely love it, it has some of my favourite songs on there, but so does "Eagles" and "Desperado". It's a hard choice and they are all close but...

While Hotel California was very good, I feel there were some duds on it.
Desperado got my vote here. I like the whole storyline throughout the record, and there isn't a bad song on it. On the Border would be a close second.

Personally I've never listened to any albums much. Mostly just the radio so I didn't know most of these songs.
But Take it Easy, Witchy Woman, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Take it to The Limit, Heartache Tonight are all favorites that I've made sure are on my computer recoded off YouTube with a cheap microphone. I doubt Copyright violation covers that.

Two points
1. It is a violation of copyright. Pure and simple. By law you cannot make copies of a work protected by copyright. Yes, I know it's technically possible (and easy) to do this but that's the law. As many have found out much to their dismay.
2. Why would you use a cheap microphone to record these tracks? You can use software to rip from YT directly and have better quality anyway????? Does not make any sense unless you think that you are escaping detection by not doing the actual recording through your PC. Here's the catch - they now have software algorithmns that detect a 'sonic fingerprint' of a piece and can compare it to a database and identify it regardless whether there is metadata attached or not. Just like a normal fingerprint can be identified from nothing more than a photograph.
