Starry Night Over The Rhone by Vincent Van Gogh. im a huge fan of Vincent's works but this is my favourite. the Van Gogh Museum is a must go place when in Amsterdam (along with the cafes, but theyre another story for another day LOL) RE: favourite works of art - Ruby - 25-12-2020 (24-12-2020, 08:20)CRAZY-HORSE Wrote: thought i might start a thread and see where it leads us (if it does at all!).... You'll find the poem that this is based on in the comments below the link. Loreena McKennit is probably one of very few who could do it justice ... RE: favourite works of art - Ruby - 25-12-2020 Alexei Bituirsky - his style is called romantic realism. I have a feeling smarty pants art lovers might sneer, but I could live with some of his work. https://project2747661.tilda.ws/page13092644.html

RE: favourite works of art - CRAZY-HORSE - 26-12-2020 ^^ back to Escher Jerome: i had a book of his works many moons ago was a hardcover, probably 12" high by 8" wide and a good 1 1/2" thick from memory one picture to a page, excellent detail... i let someone borrow it and unlike a boomerang it didnt come back, guessing it was a stick. RE: favourite works of art - Ruby - 26-12-2020 These are intriguing - wouldn't call them favourite works of art, but nonetheless - fascinating what people come up with ... RE: favourite works of art - James Otto Sweet Heart - 26-12-2020 My most favorite work of art first got started around August 20, of 1958. Around nine months later on May 20, 1959, the creation was finally born. Who do I hold responsible for it? The father, the son, and the Holy Spirit, AKA Three Musketeers. To me, if who they came up with back then after putting their heads together is the best that they could think of, I will NEVER be able to thank them enough. What I have here for y'all is a picture of their masterpiece. ![]() God bless you and him and his family always!!! Holly P.S. For anyone here who doesn't know who this is, it is actor Bronson Pinchot from the TV show named Perfect Strangers. His character name on there is Balki. RE: favourite works of art - Jerome - 27-12-2020 A controversial new statue unveiled recently. To me it's just a small nude on a big silver blob. 143,000 GBP plus. Ridiculous what passes for art these days. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=images+mary+wollstonecraft+statue&id=6A0E3F8B63D2F44450A665F8FD4077DA67962D79&form=IQFRBA&first=1&disoverlay=1&tsc=ImageBasicHover RE: favourite works of art - Ruby - 21-01-2021 Georgia O'Keefe's landscapes, particularly. She was so connected to her surroundings. ![]() She also painted this - "Blue and Green Music" - from Wiki "The painting uses colors that are both subtle and bold in order to capture the variance of tones that one would find in music. O'Keeffe described music as being able to be "translated into something for the eye". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_and_Green_Music And then there's Dan Fogelberg's tribute to her ...
