Major sh*t on the way if that happens.I was afraid of this all along. If the nuke doesn't get us the Ebola will. Bad days ahead for us all!! BTW, we have a lot of Rabies here among the Racoons. Lots of woods around here full of Racoons. They have not had nearly the same results elsewhere. I too worry about the despoiling of the groundwater and subsequent damage to aquifers. There is also serious concern about induced earthquakes (this has already happened in Pennsylvania). Technology and greed have once again raced far ahead of long-view science and morality...another thing: the US Govt forbids petro exports; all this is for domestic use. This keeps petro profits high and fuel pump prices low, thus pacifiying the populace. However, most of that Northern Tier fuel is shipped by rail, thus crowding other uses of rail lines. All manner of ag shippers are suffering much higher prices and/or spot unavailibility of shipping options. The Federales are looking into it... Remember Erin Brokovitch? (sp?) Just a matter of time before this goes to court somewhere in the world. We have fracking here in New Zealand. We have a reputation for being clean and green but you should see our beaches and river systems, half of them are not safe for swimming. I'm really hoping we don't get it here but like another member said about international travel it could be a possibility. I've heard reports that say if we don't get it under control in a couple of weeks it will possible kill millions of people. It's infecting people exponentially so many will have to die before there is either a natural slow down or a vaccine is created. I feel like the world leaders have not paid enough attention to it. They could have paid for a lot more people to go over and contain it but no. |
