Nice story Max ! Thanks for sharing...I will search for some "new" music that you may enjoy! ...it's difficult however once you've been exposed to The Fab Four !!!!...lol...Opeth, Steven Wilson, Anathema, Arcade Fire and Kings of Leon are the main modern bands I listen to frequently these days ! I am delving into the vast catalogue of avant garde metal artists this week...some great discoveries !

Looking at your preferences you probably would not like most of the stuff I would recommend but you might try 'Shawn Phillips - Second Contribution'. A lot of very different styles by the best session musicians of the day. Oh yes, and Sixto Rodriguez - Cold Fact. The one everybody missed first time around.
