It is very hard to believe anything we are told from history. Our governments lies so much.

I can't recall any elected officials I completely trust in the US.
They are all rich and don't give a flip about us.
They also do their business behind closed doors and don't think we can handle the truth.
They only tell us what they want to tell us.
Like we are children.
If they cared they would not live their life in the Senate till they are 100 and senile.
Money is being sent to countries overseas while our elderly are starving.

speaking of which....
I remember something I read years ago, thinking it may have come from Churchill, went something like:
"history is told through the eyes of the victor, not the loser"...
and also,
history is only ever told from one point of view in general, the view of the Government telling it!
if you haven't read George Orwell's "nineteen eighty-four" it is a chillingly accurate of how Government's reinvent the truth:
in the book it went something like "we are at war with Eurasia, we are friends with Eastasia (or similar), we have always been friends with Eastasia"
then in the next breath its the opposite, Eurasia has always been the friend and Eastasia has always been the enemy...
does that sound familiar?
first the US were friends with Iran in the Iraq-Iran war, then friends with Iraq, and then again Iran and everyone believed it!
and will it ever change, I doubt it!

I just heard about the Quebec Mosque shooting. http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/30/americ...sque-shooting/
So, a lone wolf gunman walked into the Quebec Islamic Cultural Center and opened fire on the worshippers there killing 6 people and injuring 5 people who are now hospitalized. Alexandre Bissonnette has been identified as the suspect and is currently being charged with murder and five attempted murder charges. Authorities have not released a possible motive, but police are investigating the attack as an act of terrorism.
There are vigils being held for the victims across Canada.
