Politics - Music Head - 29-01-2017 Oceansoul Wrote:Why do you say that? Okay, maybe a little bit.because of all the political stuff you need to just chill girl every little thing will be alright Politics - Oceansoul - 29-01-2017 Music Head Wrote:because of all the political stuffThat's what they all say. Honestly, there are different things going on in politics lately and some things make me feel uneasy. Politics - Lovely Linda - 30-01-2017 We need difference. We have had the same too many years and look where we are. Head over heels in debt with security problems to the point it's just a matter of time. We will be alright as long as we do the right thing. Give him time. We will see. I'm not worried. Kennedy era was a bad one. We were on the verge of nuclear war but we made it out. Too bad they had to kill JFK. He was tough. I wonder what would have happened if they had not killed him. Politics - Oceansoul - 30-01-2017 I'll be surprised if his presidency isn't a disaster. Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-01-2017 Lovely Linda Wrote:We need difference. We have had the same too many years and look where we are. Head over heels in debt with security problems I agree...difference is good, otherwise its the same old politicians doing the same old things all the time regardless of which side of the fence they sit on... at the moment, I think Trump has all the hallmarks of being a Great Leader, but time will tell if his way of doing things is right or wrong for the world as a wider community... I disagree...never cared for JFK as a politician and even less for his private life, screwing around etc, puts him on par with Clinton IMO.. but out of him and Johnson, give me JFK anyday. it is interesting though, he was basically thrown into international turmoil the day he became President, no time to settle in to the job, straight in the deep end. Cuban Missile Crisis could have gone horribly wrong for everyone, but I think he resolved that situation pretty well... JFK signed off on the paperwork to send troops to Vietnam didn't he? quite possibly the single worst decision by an American President, yes even worse than Iran-Contra, Watergate and Bush's decision to let Saddam off the hook in 91-92 BTW, I haven't read too much about JFK's short Presidency, so maybe he did a lot of good in that couple of years, I don't know?? Politics - Oceansoul - 30-01-2017 The Vietnam War was a terrible idea from the beginning and an epic failure too. I think he was a good president, but he had his flaws. Kennedy's era was pretty tumultuous. And yeah, the Cuban Missile Crisis could have resulted in a nuclear war and he put a stop to it before things got worse with Cuba. He also did good things like advocate for Civil Rights. There were developments in the space race and he established the Peace Corps. Politics - Lovely Linda - 30-01-2017 Dwight Eisenhower There were five United States presidents who held office during the Vietnam War. These five presidents were Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. I agree about the Vietnam War. Not a good idea! As far as Kennedy's private life, I heard most of the Pres. had affairs. Don't want to mention their names but they did. Will say look at Jefferson and Sally Hemings. Politics - Oceansoul - 30-01-2017 Yeah, that was a long war. But yes, there were presidents who had affairs and mistresses waayy back. |
