Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 25-01-2017 so do I, the TPP would have been a 'lose - lose' relationship for everyone IMO six years of negotiations finally ratified in Dec '16 and cancelled a month later, would have cost the eight or nine Govts tens of millions in paperwork Politics - Oceansoul - 25-01-2017 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:so do I, the TPP would have been a 'lose - lose' relationship for everyone IMOIndeed, I feel it's the safer decision and less costly. There were special interests and lobbyists involved and thus invested in the trade agreement, which means it likely wouldn't be in the people's best interests. Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 26-01-2017 read something funny the other day(sort of a one liner): so if someone takes a potshot at Trump, are the Secret Service going to yell out "Donald, duck!" Politics - Jerome - 26-01-2017 This guy is not going to waste any time by the looks of things. And despite all the protests and the 'stars' and wannabees all coming out against him, he has shown them that actions speak louder than words. I don't agree with everything he says and does but people should stop and consider how what he might do could possibly benefit them. Seems like a stupid thing to say, but for argument's sake, let's say his plan to limit access to the USA by radicals means that one lunatic does not blow up a hotel or airport then that is actually a good thing, especially if you are the unlucky poor shit that happens to be in the said location when the nut-job presses the button. There's more to this than meets the eye. Time will tell. It always does. Politics - Oceansoul - 26-01-2017 He just gave terrorist organizations like IS and Al Qaeda ammo to use against us. They can say, "See this is evidence that the West does hate Muslims, join us and fight against them!" Good job, Donald. Also, this is discrimination and his lack of empathy for innocent suffering refugees is appalling. Politics - Oceansoul - 26-01-2017 I think Trump has serious issues and based on most of his executive orders, things are going to get difficult for a lot of people. He just froze some government hiring, banned scientists from speaking out publicly, he just took away humanitarian health services from women in developing countries, he wants to bring back torture and roll back Obama's humane prison reforms, and more. Btw, the American taxpayer is paying for his glorious wall. Politics - Jerome - 26-01-2017 The USA gave those organizations ammo decades ago. By adopting an arrogant line. A 'we are the biggest kid on the block' mentality. Well you aren't anymore. Far from it. Just remember - the USA armed Osama Bin Laden. And just look what he did for you. Politics - Music Head - 26-01-2017 they don't need ammo their religion is their ammo Politics - Oceansoul - 26-01-2017 Jerome Wrote:The USA gave those organizations ammo decades ago. And just look what he did for you.Regardless, he just gave them propaganda to use which these organizations like. The U.S. has indeed played a role by interfering with Middle East affairs. There is a bill that recently passed in Congress banning the U.S. from aiding or arming terrorist groups. I think it was Tulsi Gabbard who introduced it. That's a good thing. If we had not gotten involved in the first place by invading Iraq, maybe we wouldn't be expected to step up and take responsibility and spend billions of dollars paying for wars we probably can't win. Politics - Oceansoul - 26-01-2017 Music Head Wrote:they don't need ammoOf course, the terrorists themselves don't need it, they are convinced what they are doing is divinely approved and thus justified. They use their religion, however, they haven't convinced millions of Muslims. It's not enough, most people try to do good and not everyone has the same interpretation of their faith's scriptures. Quite a few Christians disagree on basic teachings and Bible verses, Islam has different sects and ideologies too. Extremists always think they are right and everyone else is wrong. Religion is a weapon for them. |
