and to top it off we had a power cut between 1am and 4pm (15 hrs).

clouds rolled in around 4am and stayed until around lunchtime which kept the temperature down but humid,
then they cleared and in came the fires of hell for another scorching day in which Beelzebub would feel at home...

36C/96F today and temps on the rise again...
just saw on the BBC World weather report that temps in Spain reached 25C/77F during Christmas week which is unprecedented warmth in that part of the world at that time of the year.
it was also pointed out that there has been no snow lower than 2000m in the Italian Alps this winter and they have had no nightly temps in that region lower than 10C/50F which has lead to a terrible ski season to date.
