Politics - Oceansoul - 22-01-2017 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:its always the same thing with 'the left', they approve of democracy as long as its the democracy that suits them....Ooh yeah, the right do get frustrated and fearful. They have protested before, including the Presidential election outcome, not just the left as LMD has provided evidence for. Quote:anyway,Being President doesn't mean he will not get criticism and he should toughen his skin up. He has his chance. As Abraham Lincoln said, if you truly want to test a man's character, give him power. I'm not out protesting, though I know people who are. If he starts treating people with more respect and acting presidential then that would be great and make it easier to respect him. Most of the left accept the results. The protesters are trying to express resistance and consider Trump's power as validation to others to be a jerkstore. Politics - LMD - 23-01-2017 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:well done LMD... And we as Americans should be extremely thankful for that. It's been embarrassingly bad these past few years. Jerome absolutely hit the nail on the head; Jerome Wrote:Personally I think the whole American election thing is turning into a bad TV reality show. America is far too obsessed with television, social media, media presenters and so-called political experts. The media circus are completely out of touch with what's going on in the real world. We'll see if anything changes, but considering just today Trump's "counselor" tried to explain away a blatant lie by arguing they had used "alternative facts," I'm not exactly beaming with optimism. (source: http://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/wh-spokesman-gave-alternative-facts-inauguration-crowd-n710466)I'm not feeling very optimistic either. Politics - Lovely Linda - 24-01-2017 Madonna needs to be arrested for what she said. It was not taken out of context. That's a lie. She knew she screwed up by threatening the White House. How stupid can she be. SS needs to haul her ass in. If it were us they would. I'm so sick of these double standards. Newt got it right. she should have been arrested. Politics - Music Head - 24-01-2017 ^^ I'm just glad she wasn't wearing one of those vagina costumes that were seen on protest day Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-01-2017 thanks or that MH...i'll have nightmares over the thought of that image in my head tonight now! Politics - Oceansoul - 24-01-2017 Native Americans getting a raw deal by the U.S. government? Sounds familiar. Btw, there are people who live on the land where the crude oil pipelines will be constructed. But screw those guys! Trump's administration is going to get sued. The water protectors at Standing Rock will be pissed over the Dakota Access one. Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-01-2017 if anything, the Obama Administration should have been sued, he signed off on the pipeline in early 2016 and work was almost completed on the pipeline prior to Trump getting voted in... this was not international news but secular, the only reason I heard about it was through Neil Young's new album "peace trail", I heard the songs and tried to educate myself with the messages he was saying. anyway, whatever, Neil sings a couple of songs about it on his new album, heres one of those tracks: Politics - Oceansoul - 24-01-2017 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:if anything, the Obama Administration should have been sued, he signed off on the pipeline in early 2016Obama's administration likely would have been sued over the pipelines anyway, but he isn't president anymore. There were people ready to throw a lawsuit at Obama's administration over the Keystone pipeline so he caved a bit on it for a while amid pressure. I was disappointed with Obama over these projects. Lands that are sacred (or belong) to the local Native Americans should be left alone. I learned about the protests at Standing Rock through talking to people since the news hasn't been covering it, even though it's been going on for about a year now. Trump's administration will likely be sued for signing off on them which he just did, with no discussion with the local tribes nor protestors. This was a campaign promise. So, he is now responsible. Thanks for sharing the song, btw. mile: I liked it.
Politics - Oceansoul - 24-01-2017 I actually agree with Trump's executive order on withdrawing the U.S. from the TPP. I know, the world must be ending or something. |
