RE: What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 12-05-2024 (29-03-2024, 18:42)Ruby Wrote: Dave Sinclair's Stream. It popped up on an alert and will be the most costly CD I own - provided it actually arrives! The ZAR sucks, along with postal services - or non-services. I think it was only pressed in Japan or something along those lines and the CD is impossible to find. Holding thumbs it doesn't disappear in transit. Just love 'Sad Eyes' - Andy Latimer doing his thing too, on that track ... Well glory hallelujah! The CD did actually arrive, prohibitive duties notwithstanding. I've been listening in the car. It's quite classical IMHO - piano ballads, lots of flute and wafty melodies, good voices, including Annie Haslam, but nothing that would stop the world from turning. Nicely packaged, I must say. And my favourite so far, after "Sad Eyes" (which I have to let be now for a bit), the very sedately paced "Always There" sung by one Martin Bacon who appears to be otherwise invisible - no idea who he is or whether he's sung on any other releases. Some Japanese sung lyrics at the end of the song by Chizuko Ura. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-05-2024 ^^ glad it arrived safely Ruby RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 19-05-2024 this one finally arrived in the local store on friday so i managed to pick it up today. looking forward to listening to this one because it is Mr.K.... RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 28-05-2024 both finally arrived in the mail yesterday. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 06-06-2024 the new Billie Eilish album arrived in the mail today so looking forward to giving it a bit of airplay over the weekend. RE: What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 14-07-2024 Finally - I have a friend coming to visit, from the UK, who can bring me some CD's, so have been able to purchase Dominic Miller's Vagabond and Terje Rydal and The Chaser's Blue. So easy to have delivered there by comparison to here, which is also prohibitively expensive in terms of postage and then import duty. ECM is on ball I must say. Yay! RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 06-09-2024 BENSON BOONE "fireworks & rollerblades" decent pop music DAVID GILMOUR "luck and strange" RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 26-11-2024 FATHER JOHN MISTY "mahashmashana" new album RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-02-2025 STEPHEN STILLS 'stills' 1975 JOHN LENNON/PLASTIC ONO BAND "shaved fish" 1975 Lynne and i went to a little record store in Margaret River today and found these two at reasonable prices. i used to have the Lennon compilation but i lost it, Lynne has it but the cover has deteriorated over the decades so we thought a new one would sort out both of our collections. BTW "shaved fish" is one of the best compilations ever released IOO (in our opinion) as for Stills, im always on the lookout for decent copies of secondhand albums by him but they are so scarce here in Australia that you just gotta pick them up when you see them. looking forward to listening to this one RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-04-2025 ELTON JOHN & BRANDI CARLILE "who believes in angels?" my first 2025 release that i have purchased this year. i have another album on 'pre order' and will post that when it arrives in the middle of May. Lynne has a 2025 album release as part of her birthday gift i purchased for her, again i will post what she was given on birthday next week. |
