I'm not advocating for an open door policy per se, I just don't agree with a ban.
As far as the number of migrants is concerned, if a country can only sustain a certain number of refugees (or asylum seekers) then they shouldn't take more than they can handle. My understanding of the situation in Germany is that there are asylum seekers who don't need to be there and shouldn't be allowed in like this current suspect who has previously committed arson in Italy and has used fake names. Letting people who you know are a potential danger and who don't even have proper papers running around freely in your country is pretty crazy.
Muslims are human beings too btw. I think the extremists are helping to hurt the perception of refugees and the far right are fanning the flames. I know they love pushing the Muslim horde takeover narrative. Which is quite dangerous. If you make people panic, they might do regrettable things. I would rather think rationally and help most of the refugees we can afford to and if there are any people who might have terrorist connections then they shouldn't be allowed into the country.
Trump is a demagogue who ran a successful ugly, divisive campaign. He did tap into a vein that exists here, no doubt about that.

Megyn Kelly is leaving Fox News for a position at NBC. Can't say I blame her. I might not agree with her on a lot of things including politics, but she did call Trump's campaign out for intellectual dishonesty and his statements about women. At least someone at Fox News exhibited some sense of reason.
