RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-05-2021 still had some money left from Xmas gift cards that i hadnt spent but i did today.... Queen "queen 2" one of four i need to complete my Queen collection on cd. Taylor Swift "evermore" from last December, on cd. Kings Of Leon "when you see yourself" their latest from earlier this year, on cd. and two on vinyl: ![]() Liam Finn "the nihilist" Neil's son... on 180g double vinyl with bonus cd of the album also was half price and on the sought after Japanese label YepRoc. ![]() Hoodoo Gurus "in blue cave" their seventh, only one i dont own to date, never seen it on cd and it is not available anyway... found the vinyl pressing for half price. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 04-06-2021 CROWDED HOUSE "dreamers are waiting" blue vinyl pictured above also bought the cd version RE: What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 07-06-2021 Several items of hardware, including the kitchen sink. No music I’m afraid – renovating my new place before moving in and must take care of the essentials first so forgive me if my contributions on the board are a little sketchy over the next month or so - I’m a little pre-occupied! And load-shedding is back too. I did buy a book, however – a recommendation from MH to which I look very much forward. Pilgrim at Tinker Creek – Annie Dillard. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-06-2021 ^^ good luck with the renovation and moving Ruby RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-06-2021 two cds arrived in the mail today: PAUL WELLER "fat pop" the cd version finally arrived! MEAT LOAF "hell in a handbasket" a 2011 release which i never bought at the time it is the missing link in my otherwise complete collection of Mr Aday's albums collection... looking forward to hearing it as ive never heard ot previously RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 18-06-2021 JEWEL "pieces of you" - 25th anniversary 4cd box set. huge fan of the album and it happened to be 1/2 price ($44) and less than 6 months since its release! ordered it today, should get it in the mail sometime next week. so, disk #1 the original album. disk #2 demos & outtakes. disk #3 b-sides and unreleased material. disk #4 a live gig of the album. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ i dont buy many boxsets but when i do they have to be great original albums, contain reasonably good extras and be good value for money IMO, and this album ticks every box for me! RE: What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 19-06-2021 A discounted buy as I won a gift coupon – lucky me! Trying again to get my hands on Steve Hackett’s Under a Mediterranean Sky – this time through the local vinyl guy who imports directly from the Netherlands. His shipments actually seem to arrive, and to my surprise, it’s less costly this way!! Plus, I’ll get the records (it’s a double album) AND the CD. Huh! Should have gone to him first. Lesson learned! Ordering the new Kayak while I’m about it which is also 2 LP’s and a CD. Bonus! RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-06-2021 been looking at this one since it was released around 6 wks ago and.... my heart got the better of my head today: ordered from Amazon (from the UK, was almost half price against the current retail price here and free delivery guarenteed to arrive by 2nd July) ![]() so 180g remaster on vinyl cd 1: remastered album cd 2: demo versions (full versions of songs, not shippets/false starts etc) cd 3: unreleased songs from the sessions cd 4: talbum tracks with alternate vocals more detailed info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9j%C3%A0_Vu_(Crosby,_Stills,_Nash_%26_Young_album)#50th_Anniversary_Edition_(14_May_2021) RE: What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 24-06-2021 ^Looks like a nice booklet. One of those essential albums! RE: What Did You Buy? - JeromeD - 03-07-2021 Music from the Salon - a CD of obscure but interesting classical pieces recorded by Vaughan Jones and company. Vaughan is an absolute wizard on the violin and he's been doing some work for me recently and will be doing more when I find the time to finish the rough drafts. I have not received the disc yet but looking forward to something different from what I normally buy. Nothing ventured... Oh yes, I have also been spending some time with my new ARP2600 synth. It's like a new girfriend. You have to learn which buttons to press. If you press the wrong one it just hisses at you! Speaking of which, I am going to listen to Joni Michell's 'The Hissing of Summer Lawns' this afternoon. Have not heard this in ages. A trip down memory lane for me. |
