RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 26-01-2021 Christmas Gift-Card purchases today: SILVERCHAIR - frogstomp Aussie grunge trio from back in the day PIXIES - doolittle alt-rock band reco'd by MH so i purchased their biggest seller TELEVISION - marquee moon punk band reco'd by MH he also reco'd the album ALAN JACKSON - who i am one of the few country singers who burn the candle of REAL country BOSTON - dont look back all i own is a compilation thought i'd try a studio set BOB DYLAN - the basememnt tapes & pat garrett and billy the kid picked up two Dylan albums to further the collection... and finally...... ![]() ELVIS COSTELLO - mighty like a rose only previously heard "so like candy" off the album so this is totally new to me ELVIS COSTELLO - kojak variety all i know is that this is a covers set should be interesting as he tends to put the Costello spin into covers RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-02-2021 browsing in a second hand vinyl record shop this morning and found these ones: JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO & PLASTIC ONO BAND "sometime in NYC" double album (part studio/part live) own the cd, never seen the vinyl as it didnt sell back in the day so wanted it purely for the 'hard to find' value! RINGO STARR "sentimental journey", "beaucoups of blues", "ringo" not sure if Ringo purchases are a good deal or not, its Ringo and i dont expect much so hopefully i will get a pleasant surprise from these....fingers crossed! LOL and last but not least... PETE SHELLEY "homosapien" love the title track so took a chance on something i overlooked back in the day... RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-03-2021 ordered some "new" vinyl today... ![]() WILLIE J HEALEY "twin heavy" and "hello good morning (ep)" one of my favorite listens from last year but unavailable in australia so i ordered the album and took a chance on the 'ep' on the strength of that album, dude has a George Harrison feel and vibe in his guitar style and vocals. ![]() JOY DIVISION "closer" 40th anniversary 'clear vinyl' edition. to be honest ive never heard the full album but always intrigued by the cover art. ![]() KINGS OF LEON "when you see yourself" their new album on 'red vinyl' cover art seems to differ from the cd version for some reason?? oops!, i just realised i ordered the 'cream vinyl' instead of red, my bad. BEATLES "yesterday and today" aka "the butcher album" a replica of the original 1966 US release album cover. album was removed from the stores immediately and the cover was replaced with a more 'wholesome' image of The Fab Four... some original albums still out there and theyre worth tens of thousands of dollars, others have the latter cover art stuck over the original. i guess this would have been quite explicit and controversial back in the day. PAUL McCARTNEY " III-imagined" a remix/covers album of his "McCartney-III" album released last December... i managed to pre-order the 'splatter vinyl' from the official McCartney store... only a few hundred copies of that vinyl color available. bought purely for monetary purposes as the the "McCartney III" album in 'splatter vinyl' is worth its weight in gold to collectors, hoping this increases in value the same way, thus, staying factory sealed when it arrives sometime in June. RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 28-03-2021 Something I bought some time ago - Dave Sturt - Dreams and Absurdities. Ruby this might be to your liking. RE: What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 31-03-2021 ^Will give it a try. RE: What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 31-03-2021 Still waiting for Steve Hackett's Under a Mediterranean Sky to arrive. It's crazy - only deemed missing after something like 60 working days - ordered on 20th of January. Beginning to doubt it will ever appear!! RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 18-04-2021 trip to a Flea Market this morning Dani looking at plants, me looking for music... walked away with six cds for $5
RE: What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 08-05-2021 O me of little faith. I should tempt fate more often!! Picked up Shackleton’s Voyage from the post office today. EUREKA! A nice little package, the booklet includes photos from the expedition courtesy of The Royal Geographical Society (London) and the Scott Polar Institute (Cambridge), and there’s a detailed map of Antarctica on the inside back of the jewel case. Small details that are immensely pleasing (even if a bit too small nowadays! ).
RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 09-05-2021 Good buy Ruby. Great album. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 19-05-2021 Paul Weller - fat pop released last week order for the vinyl only just arrived in-store today cd on back order |
