^^
so funny how people can see the same things so different
I think after the election it was the other side that was overly reactionary

Politics - Music Head - 01-12-2016

the dems on the House side finally had their votes
thought for sure they would dump Nancy Pelosi as their leader
not even close
she won with 2/3rds of the vote
thought they would want someone younger
Pelosi is 76

just an update for all you political junkies

Trump continues to play the media like a fine tuned Stradivarius
we continue to be in suspense about the top cabinet position

I see Dr. Ben Carson got his payoff for his loyalty
the former Trump opponent got the Housing & Urban Development head
surgery is required

most recent surprise was a one on one with Al Gore
I detect a shift in the climate change winds
just please don't give him a job

Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 06-12-2016

no, no, no, not Al Gore, please say it isn't so MH.

Politics - Oceansoul - 06-12-2016

Yeah, I hope Trump's position on climate change does shift and he talks to actual scientists for advice and insight on what to do to help the environment.

and just to play devil's advocate
what if the scientists Trump talks to tell him the environment will survive human activity
despite all our efforts to destroy it

Well then I guess Trump wouldn't do anything. Viva la pollution! I was under the impression that conserving and helping the environment was sensible though. Silly me.

Politics - Oceansoul - 06-12-2016

In a less sarcastic tone, I guess Trump wouldn't feel the moral imperative to do anything immediately about the environment, if at all. He would likely choose to not push for policies on the issue and likely cut funding in climate change research like he had originally planned on doing. The statement from the hypothetical scientists is rather dismissive about human actions role in climate change, as if they don't matter that much.

Taking care of the planet is important and so is the flourishing of life here. So is reducing pollution to make air cleaner and people healthier. Hurricanes becoming stronger and heat waves more severe isn't a big deal? What about the potential damage to some animal populations and marine life? Rising sea levels aren't a problem? What about possible food shortages?

Delayed reaction, but got bombarded at work. Should clarify that "the die-hard Trump supporters who've shown themselves to be overly reactionary" is all one subset of Trump supporters. Not that all Trump supporters have been overly reactionary, nor have all die-hard Trump supporters. I was referring to watching the specific subset of Trump supporters who have been overly reactionary flip out.

Much like I would if the tables were turned. Obviously there's die-hard Clinton supporters who have been overly reactionary, just like with Sanders. I actually took great glee in reading Sanders' die-hard reactionaries meltdown after every late primary (especially H.A. Goodman who blogged non-stop in the most asinine and not reality-based ways I've ever seen).

My comment was not implying all Trump supporters are overly-reactionary or that Clinton supporters weren't. Just that there's a subset of Trump supporters who would be hysterical to follow if they found something during these recounts.

What can I say? Some people just want to watch the world burn.

Oh boy. Also, he has chosen former Texas Governor, Rick Perry, for Energy Secretary. :twitch:
