RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 15-05-2020 three 2020 new release albums today, you know times are tough when theyre your first music purchases of the year and it is May !!! DUA LIPA "future nostalgia" HALSEY "manic" EMINEM "music to be murdered by" RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 10-06-2020 Finally got my Simon Phillips boxset today. It is absolutely scary how good this guy is. I don't have much of this sort of style of music but it is a fascinating collection to immersive yourself in. For some or other reason Zappa, Stanley Clarke and Mahavishnu Orchestra come to mind, among others. Going to spend the next couple of days just listening and learning. And reading through the booklet it's quite obvious that Simon is a perfectionist and a bloody hard worker. Superb production as well. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-06-2020 ^^ he's a very good artist. I have one album, I cant remember who sent it to me, you or Ruby. ==================================================== anyway, I managed to get my hands on a boxset today also.... Adrian, who ive known for over 35 years who still owns and operates a little independent music store asked me last week whilst we were having a coffee at his store asked if I was a big George Harrison fan. I replied "yeah, im a fan of his", he went on to mention that he had a boxset at his house that contains all of George's solo albums on vinyl that someone ordered several years ago, put down a decent deposit but never came back to pick it up and that Adrian couldn't get hold of him for whatever reason... so, he went on to say that the retail price of it is between $700-$1000 depending where you get it from. all he asking for it from me was $150 because that's all that would be required to recover his costs for it. anyway, he called me today and said he had bought it in to the store and that if I still wanted it I could pick it up... fast forward half an hour and I purchased it, so ALL of George's solo albums from 1968's Wonderwall, through to 2002's Brainwashed, set also included the hard to get hold of double vinyl "live in japan" set which features Eric Clapton as part of his live band. this is not going to remain a sealed box, I intend to play it...maybe LOL! the Wiki, if youre interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Harrison_–_The_Vinyl_Collection RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 15-06-2020 Finally got my Mike Zito CD's from the States. Just absolutely love this track. What a voice. The new national anthem of Disneyland. This track speaks volumes...put very simply and very crudely - it butters my balls. Something that just gets to the heart of the matter. An astonishing track. Stuff like this comes around once in your lifetime. Savour it. https://youtu.be/6sCEbFRQaIc RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 16-06-2020 Been listening to Mike Zito all day - and really loud - (the neighbours are starting to look at me strangely) - marvellous stuff! His 'Today' CD is a must for all collections. Reading through his site - seems he was a bit of a wildcat in his youth but music sorted him out. The boy done good! RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 19-06-2020 BOB DYLAN "rough and rowdy ways" bought a copy for my mum while I was at it... would have bought the Neil Young one also but stocks haven't arrived.. RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 01-07-2020 Wanted to listen to Camel's 'Nude' album today. Could not find the bloody thing, Then I remembered that I had lent it to someone who obviously liked it and has decided to hold onto it. Bugger! Oh well, CD Universe, here comes another order. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 01-07-2020 ^^ Jerome just for your interest have you tried shopping through "wowhd" ??? I find them cheaper than CD Universe to Australia ive never had any problems with them, prompt delivery and with answering queries. might be worth checking out next time to compare prices: https://www.wowhd.co.uk RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 10-07-2020 WILLIE NELSON "first rose of spring" PAUL WELLER "on sunset" on VINYL the vinyl to keep my PW vinyl collection complete and sealed in mint condition. the 'deluxe' cd version isnt available yet so still waiting to buy the cd at this time. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 17-07-2020 everytime i go past a music store i have to go in and look through the discount bin on the off chance there might be something interesting. found three cds today in a discount bin that was labelled "3 for $10", so here are the three i bought!
