CRANBERRIES "no need to argue" cd, 1994

their second of eight.
only one i own, i should really own more but i dont.
soft rock, easy listening...its your call.
lovely melodies and harmonisations.
they all keep their clothes on and no foul disgusting language.
a pleasure to listen to some inoffensive music.

ELTON JOHN "duets" cd, 1993

sixteen tracks.
fifteen duets with others,
on one he plays with himself...
almost a list of who's who...
KD Lang, Little Richard, Cohen, Don Henly, Chris Rea, Tammy Wynette etc etc...
some of the tracks work, others dont but over all
ILIKE THIS ALBUM

only one track really stands out above all others, pretty sure you could probably guess it...

Wow, two random picks and two Elton albums.
but i dont care, could listen to him all day.
a selection of sixteen love songs from his vast back catalogue.
loving most of these tracks, liking the others.

BEEGEES "one night only" cd, 1998

Dani's cd.
listened to in her car on the way to see her daughter and week old Grandson who live an hour away, yesterday.
sublime set of twenty-four tracks spanning their entire career.
their harmonies, as we all know, are as good live as they were some thirty years previous on original recordings.
no auto-tune required with these guys, still hitting every bloody note almost perfectly.
in my list of top5 band's of all time without any hesitation.

NEIL DIAMOND "the greatest hits 1966-1992" cd, 1992

thirty seven track, two cd set...
loving most of this.
the problem i have with it is that half the tracks are live versions from 1992 and thats
because of copyright issues.
either way...
I LIKE THIS ALBUM:

CAROLE KING "the Carnegie Hall concert: june 18, 1971" cd, 1996.

seventeen tracks.
James Taylor appears on Youve Got A Friend and also an eight minute medley of tracks.
just shows how great Ms.King was even back then because just about every track on here has become a classic/standard.
love her voice whether its live or recorded in a studio setting.
fantastic artist and sublime songwriter.

MARC COHN "marc cohn" cd, 1991.

his debut.
first time hearing this after it was passed on to me last year.
only thing i was familliar with was the classic Walking In Memphis.
was thinking if the other tracks on here are half as good as that one it will be good...
no need to worry, at least four songs are almost the equal to it already and liking the rest.
the above mentioned tune was insterted into the "great American songbook" just three years after its release, and rightfully so.
not a huge fan of Cher by any means but i also really liked her cover of it.
not sure if this guy is a rocker, soft rocker, balladeer, a folk rocker or whatever as he seems to slip with ease into all styles.
sort of has the wordplay, delivery and style of Springteen on a couple of tracks, most noteably on Silver Thunderbird, which could have (if i didnt know better), have been written by The Boss back in the '70s.
all up a fantastic album and Mr Cohn should have been so much more than the preverbial 'one hit wonder'.

Aussie soft rock/easy listening/jazz/blues singer...
second album of eight..
all of the above styles on here.
platinum seller here peaking at #11 on the chart.
only thing i own but i should own more.
a very good multi-genre hopping artist.

Australia's premier artist from the late '60s to the present...
sixteen track live album...
always a great live performer...
five times platinum here...

still his best track after all these years and the one Paul describes as "the best Beatle cover ive ever heard"...

CLIFF RICHARD "platinum collection" cd, 2005

three cd, 73 track career spanning compilation containing 73 of his then 124 UK singles to date.

Disk 1:

31 singles spanning 1958 to 1965.
all either top10 or #1's in his homeland apart from one which peaked at #12.
BTW, nine #1's on here.
dude was the only guy who could compete with Presley in the UK, and on occasion actually outsell him.
lots of soft rock/pop on here similar to Ricky Nelson, lots of ballads/love songs also.
love probably eight or nine of these, liking the remainder.
only six of these tracks hit the US charts with Livin' Doll (the highest charting) reaching a lowly #30 over there...stupid Americans!
but i guess they had a hundred of their own artists all competing with Elvis, they didnt need a foreigner muscling in on the act neither, LOL.
