RE: Born on this day ... - Ruby - 14-06-2022 ^^Gonna start diagnosing you with an acronym if you aren't careful! Lol! RE: Born on this day ... - Ruby - 14-06-2022 Jesse Clegg - born on 14 June 1988, in Jozi. He's followed his own muse - brave considering the footsteps of the giant up ahead of him! That said, I think that much as in the image below, they walked side by side. I'm currently reading Scatterling of Africa, and in the foreword, which is by Roddy Quin, he makes particular mention of how Johnny's family was his first priority, without fail - that if he was doing a gig anywhere within 3 hours of home, he'd drive home afterwards - always - and have them with him if at all possible, when traveling abroad, etc. Jesse's music is not my thing, but wow - what a powerful bond this father and son had ... can't help but shed a little tear ... He grew up in South Africa, formed a band called All Night Radio, and then another one, Big Sky. All Night Radio performed at what I seem to think remains the biggest rock concert ever seen in SA – 1984’s Concert in the Park – 125,000 people - I was there – don’t remember them at all I’m sorry to say! “Waiting for the Dawn” still gets a lot of airplay – they sound like U2, a bit … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwHYDfb-uss “Slow Dancing” which has the ability to become rather earwormy … also still heard on the airwaves regularly - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSthsVduynQ He released a solo album last year … this is from that … RE: Born on this day ... - CRAZY-HORSE - 17-06-2022 Barry Manilow (79) RE: Born on this day ... - Music Head - 17-06-2022 ^^ guilty pleasure I would mention Kendrick Lamar but I don't want to RE: Born on this day ... - CRAZY-HORSE - 18-06-2022 James Paul McCartney (80) a rock masterpiece... |
