Spain beats England in Euro 2024. The better team won. Gareth Southgate is getting some heavy stick on social media but people are quick to forget. He has taken England to TWO successive Euros finals. Before the game people were speculating that Southgate should receive a knighthood if England won. 2 hours later they are calling for his head. With supporters like that who needs enemies. It's time the players stepped up and delivered for once. Time to stop firing managers who have done their job and start firing overpaid prima donnas too lazy to run after the ball.

Watched the opening of the Olympics in Paris. At first I was bored with all these boats going down the Seine and the whole thing seemed to be disjointed but I have to admit Celine Dion's performance was mesmerising. A first class act. And a brave one too considering all she has gone through in recent years. She stole the show. 10/10.

according to family members i still have in the UK (and whom i still have contact with), there has certainly been an undercurrent of resentment in the UK for many years regarding:
1: refugees intakes.
2: the lack of assimilation by said refugees.
3: the middle eastern gang related crime.
4: terrorist incidents
5: pandering to minority groups at the expense of UK citizens.
im only repeating what i am being told but as im obviously not living there i cannot give a personal view.
i do believe that the killing of three young girls and wounding of a dozen others at that Taylor Swift dance studio a week or so ago by a 17yo of middle eastern ethnicity was the spark that lit the gunpowder keg.

that said, the UK has a lot more internal issues like unemployment, housing crisis, cost of living crisis, health/hospitals, education, law and order etc etc....
