RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-07-2017 I believe Dave Gilmour has a live dvd coming out shortly Jerome... RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 23-07-2017 Yes - the concert he did in Pompeii recently. I am not a big fan of his solo stuff except the magnificent 'About Face' album. As for the new Waters effort I am not impressed at all. He needs to call it a day. RE: What Did You Buy? - Music Head - 23-07-2017 you gotta be cruel to be kind RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 23-07-2017 So true. Sad to see him bow out with a crap effort after all those incredible concept albums. Meddle, DSOTM, WYWH, The Wall, Animals, The Final Cut, Radio KAOS, Pros & Cons and Amused to Death. How many artists in the world can say they created that many ground-breaking albums in one lifetime. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-07-2017 ive heard the Waters album on Spotify....terrible, musically, he appeared to be rehashing old tunes. lyrically, its abysmal, and the language... I know he's pissed off with the Trump win but using the old F-Bomb, totally not required to get the point across IMO. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-07-2017 our birthday gift voucher/card purchases this morning... ![]() Ray Davies - "americna" his superb latest solo set from earlier this year! ![]() Rolling Stones - "blue and lonesome" their blues covers set from last year or early this year.... its raw, its bluesy, and I don't know any of the the covers except one or two so it comes as a fresh new album to me. ![]() Elton John - "don't shoot me, im only the piano player" has been on my 'to purchase' list for some time, by chance, happened to see it in a discount bin today ![]() Toto - "IV" another one ive had on my list for a long time, I do own the vinyl, but I now, at last, have it on cd courtesy of a discount bin... looking forward to hearing "Africa" in crystal clear cd sound finally... BTW, "Africa" is as close as you can get to the "perfect" song IMO! RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 27-07-2017 And Rosanna as well! RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 02-08-2017 the last batch of giftcard purchases for my birthday: ![]() David Bowie - "never let me down" not a great album, already have it on vinyl but only need a couple to complete my cd collection so I bought it... ![]() Jeff Beck - "blow by blow" loved his album from last year, or was it the beginning of 2017??? so I thought i'd try something from his back catalogue ![]() Jim Croce - "the collection" always been a fan but never owned anything...I do now! ![]() Jeff Healy Band - "see the light" from Canada, but I wont hold that against them! RE: What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 02-08-2017 Blow by Blow is considered a masterclass in guitar playing. The album has influenced many musicians over the years. RE: What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 02-08-2017 ![]() Rage Against The Machine - "evil empire" am partial to these guys, but didn't own anything ![]() Kendrick Lamar - "to pimp a butterfly" been going back to this one every once in a while since its release trying to figure what all the fuss was...I finally 'get it', so I got it ![]() Elvis Presley with the RPO - "the wonder of you" the second such album... enjoyed the first one... respectful of his legacy in every way IMO ![]() Santana - "supernatural" about time I picked up Santana, thought i'd go with something commercially friendly before I branch out further.... ![]() Joe Satriani - "surfing with the alien" this one jumped out at me from somewhere in the midsts of years gone by, thought I remembered liking what I heard on the radio at the time but never got round to purchasing it...so here goes....! ![]() Suzanne Vega - "retrospective" a twenty something track compilation... own several of her singles from back in the day, but not a single album... her albums are so hard to find here without purchasing via import so I thought a nice compilation would do the trick... ![]() Stevie Ray Vaughan - "the sky is crying" his fifth and final studio set, released after his death... so I have his debut "texas flood" which is a rock classic and this one |
