RE: Born on this day ... - Music Head - 07-03-2022 Peter Wolf (J.Geils Band) (76) RE: Born on this day ... - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-03-2022 ^^ Freeze Frame was a great album IMO but this was my favourite of theirs: VV RE: Born on this day ... - Music Head - 09-03-2022 John Cale (80) RE: Born on this day ... - Music Head - 10-03-2022 Norman Blake (84) RE: Born on this day ... - Music Head - 13-03-2022 Neil Sedaka (83) RE: Born on this day ... - Ruby - 13-03-2022 John Hackett was born on this day in 1955, in England somewhere, presumably! He might not have been, but it seems quite likely that he was as big brother Steve was born in London five years before that. John errs more on the side of classical than his sibling – he is a multi-instrumentalist but primarily a flautist, and incidentally, he plays a vertical flute He’s played on any number of albums (most of Steve’s) and collaborated with a range of other artists. He’s also made forays into the fields of new age and ambient with an outfit named Symbiosis. I prefer him when he’s focused in the classical, or neo-classical realm, at least – seems to suit him better. He made a lovely album with Steve, Sketches of Satie, but today I chose to listen to his solo album, Moonspinner – such a magical title. He plays all the instruments and composed all the pieces bar the final two which are by Bach (guitar by Andy Gray on that one too) and Debussy respectively. Sunday music – good stuff, IMHO … The title track ... RE: Born on this day ... - CRAZY-HORSE - 14-03-2022 ^^ Neil Sedaka.... probably the last of the 1950s/60s rock/pop legends who arent in the HoF yet. (and never even seems to get nominated neither) RE: Born on this day ... - Music Head - 14-03-2022 Michael Murphy (77) RE: Born on this day ... - James Otto Sweet Heart - 14-03-2022 ^^^ I love that song. God bless you and him always!!! Holly RE: Born on this day ... - Music Head - 15-03-2022 Sly Stone (79) |
