Mark Andes was born on this day in 1948, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He is the son of actor Keith Andes who was quite active in Hollywood appearing in a number of movies along with the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Angela Lansbury – that era.
Mark is a bassist and decent vocalist but can manage any guitar pretty well. He was one of the founders of the band Spirit, recording seven albums with the band then going on to form the shortlived Jo Jo Gunne after which he was recruited to Firefall, making four albums with them before joining Heart. He’s also collaborated with and contributed to many other artist’s live tours and albums. He has released one solo instrumental album that I haven't listened to yet - Real World Magic.
He’s back with Firefall for now and appears on their most recent album on which they cover what could be called Spirit’s signature song, I guess – “Nature’s Way”. He’s the first vocal, Timothy B Schmidt the second. Spirit made some good stuff IMHO.

i just assumed Donovan wrote it.
a bit like Frank Sinatra when he sung "something" in concert and said "its probably the most beautiful song Lennon/McCartney wrote"
