What Are You Listening To? - bob_32_116 - 21-01-2017

I think to say that leonard Cohen is "vocally on a par with Dylan" does Cohen a great disservice.

I really should get at least one of those early albums. He went kind of strange later, beginning with that bizarre album "Death of a Ladies' Man".

never heard of Tiddas, liked your linked track though bob_32.

I own the three "songs" albums by Cohen...Songs From A Room, Songs Of Leonard Cohen & Songs Of Love And Hate, love them all equally, plus the latest one that I posted on MH and said it was on my to purchase list prior to his death, plus "the essential" double cd...

Gordon Lightfoot – Summer Side of Life

This album followed the immensely popular and best-selling Sit Down Young Stranger/If You Could Read My Mind, so trailed in that release’s wake in terms of recognition, which is not hugely surprising, but there are some really lovely songs here … what a talented guy – great storyteller, and such dulcet tones; AMG’s reviewer calls his voice ‘fragile and kind’ which is spot on IMHO. There are one or two numbers that don’t really inspire, but on the whole, it’s an album of pleasant listening with a couple of tracks that stand out for me – these are they ….

What Are You Listening To? - Lovely Linda - 09-02-2017

I like this clip. Don't care for Reba because of her accent and eye movement.
She looks like a cartoon character. Still love Vicki even though her singing was not up to par as she got older.
Vicki probably could have done better with Mama's voice  Hard to believe Vicki is 67 now.

This is the first song that made me a huge LR fan Confusedmile: I bought her greatest hits back then.
