What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 19-12-2010 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:hey Jerome, you'll love kings Of Leon 'come around sundown',its fabulous, i wasnt too keen on their last one,the one with 'sex on fire' on it, that was horrible agree again I think this is their best album, yet not doing that well on the charts. What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 19-12-2010 Hi Ed - Dot Com is the only Tull album I don't have and I am glad I bought it. It has quite a nice edge to it. Martin Barre is particularly good on this one. Catfish Rising is also a must. One of their better albums. What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 19-12-2010 always been a Tull fan. didn't care for the A album, other than that, top notch product I will put at least one of these on my list thanks What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 19-12-2010 But my favourite Tull albums are Crest of a Knave & Heavy Horses (the latter being a favourite of my late father - and he used to listen to Mario Lanza!). Often used to come in from the weekend and find him listening to it. 'Rover' was the track he liked the most. What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 19-12-2010 Music Head Wrote:You're an alien You beat me to it. Dang !! What Are You Listening To? - Thraak - 19-12-2010 ...and 'alien' I shall remain! CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:hey Jerome, you'll love kings Of Leon 'come around sundown',its fabulous, i wasnt too keen on their last one,the one with 'sex on fire' on it, that was horrible Agree with you about the last record, that's when I went off Kings Of Leon. I didn't even know they had a new record out. Will need to check it out. If its anything like their first 3 albums we're in for a treat! 'Because Of The Times' still remains my favourite KOL record though! What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 21-12-2010 ![]() 1966 "masterpiece", inspired by The Beatles' Rubber Soul. The reason I speech-marked the masterpiece, is that I've never held this album in the esteem which the critics seem to. I'd acknowledge that it's a fine effort with brilliant innovations throughout, but it's never quite managed to grab me, and I don't feel it belongs in the top five albums ever made, as the critics would have it. God Only Knows is, however, a masterpiece song, and Floyd was moved to join in with Caroline, no... What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 21-12-2010 ^^ I agree with your assessment. Never thought it deserved the praise it gets. What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 22-12-2010 ![]() COLD CHISEL "chisel" 2001. this is the difinitive 'best of' set by Australia's finest 'blues' pub-rock band of the late 1070s and early 1980s. Cold Chisel were the only Aussie band during that period who could out sell AC/DC on either record or live in concert. lead by scotish born vocalist Jimmy Barnes they symbolised everything that was 'working class' rock, in similar themes as those portrayed by Springsteen and John Cougar from the US. the music is good rock, with rock ballads. the sound is primarily beefed up blues and fifties rock. their debut single in the late 70s was 'khe sanh', the story of a returned Nam vet, a subject still tabboo with the memory of that war still fresh in the minds of the public. the only problem with the band was that audiences didnt know if they were going to be sober at the start of their shows, by the end of each show Barnes was usually drunk from drinking two litres of Vodka whilst on stage...maybe the majority of the audiences didnt care due to the image of the band as 'live hard' icons. they toured the US with Ted Nugent in 1981 and scored a minor hit there with their album 'east' Cold Chisel are the only band ever to have top 10 hits in Australia written by four band members. on their day, they were great musicians and lyricists. after the band split in the mid 1980s three members: Don Walker, Ian Moss and Jimmy Barnes all had successful musical careers as solo artists. they have reformed a couple of times for arena tours of Australia which were successful, however their priorities now are family and solo careers....and sobriety is the order of the day. this album reached #1 on the album charts worst track: the things i love in you best track: khe sanh & forever now I LIKE THIS ALBUM tracks: 1.standing on the outside** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIkqESpPHQ8&feature=related live 2.rising sun** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ujtvhDl1Vs live 3.the things i love in you* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPkOEE2yppk&feature=fvw video 4.star hotel** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrDSh7WWdZs live 5.when the war is over*** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsFFBc7dhD0 live 6.breakfast at sweethearts*** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daKpauTL8oA video 7.my baby** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAvhT2lI55M live 8.you got nothing i want** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZXpqhXSDrE live 9.yakuza girls** 10.way down** 11.forever now*** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcjZrf_g-lQ video 12.cheap wine** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBlsP_z_iE4 live 13.merry-go-round** 14.water into wine* 15.bow river** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcnGuafBss8 Ian Moss solo live acoustic version 16.flame trees** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGiq-qR0UFE live 17.saturday night* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqsiSB3T8cw live 18.goodbye(astrid,goodbye)** 19.choir girl** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzyDVcnLJ7U video 20.khe sanh*** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmyEv4n8ERI live 3s=4 2s=13 1s=3 rating: 2.0 What Are You Listening To? - Korah-Jean - 22-12-2010 As of right now, I'm listening to the song "Oscar Wilde" by Company of Thieves.
