Politics - Oceansoul - 14-10-2016 Jerome Wrote:Have to agree - you can just tell by her body language and mannerisms she knows exactly what she is doing. The power behind the throne. If Hillary had to run against Michelle the latter would win hands down. It would be a whitewash - in every sense of the word! Yeah, no kidding. Michelle would probably win by a landslide against Hillary. She is an intelligent, powerful, and capable person. I would be more enthusiastic about voting for her. Politics - Oceansoul - 14-10-2016 I found this: Americans have lost friends over the 2016 Presidential Election http://boston.cbslocal.com/2016/09/30/presidential-election-friendship-trump-clinton-poll-monmouth/ Sad, but politics can do this. Some family friends of ours are Trump supporters and we pretty much try not to bring up this election if at all possible haha. My parent's landlord is a staunch Trump supporter and has called my Stepdad in a rage a few times, don't get why since he knows none of us like him. Politics - Lovely Linda - 14-10-2016 Yep,the family sure does not see eye to eye on this election. As sick as my hubby is his sister said BYE!! to him during their last talk. I had it on speaker phone and they were arguing about the election. She was getting hot. She heard me say I have heard enough. I don't want to hear politics anymore. That is when he told her he had to go and she said BYE!! (the bitch). She don't care about him anyway. I wish Michelle had run against Hillary. That would have stopped her. I have noticed if a Senator does not play ball with the Dems and Repubs they push the person out. Like Trent from Mississippi. Remember that story? I knew Gov. George Wallace. It's like he said, there is not a dimes worth of diffence between the Dems and Repubs. So true!! Politics - Lovely Linda - 14-10-2016 I have been through elections since Kennedy and this is the worse!! Seen alot, heard alot, and been involed in groups but never have I seen a election like this. Truly a circus act....And, I'm tired of the damn Emails. I agree with Bernie on that one! Politics - Oceansoul - 14-10-2016 Lovely Linda Wrote:Yep,the family sure does not see eye to eye on this election. Ouch! Yeah, people can get so heated due to this election. No one in my immediate family is for Trump haha, but we have been pretty divided on Bernie vs Hillary and that's actually caused some arguments mainly between my Mom and me, funny enough. And my Mom and I hardly ever get into disagreements, we have a solid, positive Mother-Daughter relationship. Politics - Oceansoul - 14-10-2016 Lovely Linda Wrote:I wish Michelle had run against Hillary. That would have stopped her. Hmm, it seems like if one of the elected party members doesn't do what the majority of them expect, they can get a raw deal. I remember when Cantor got some heat from some Republicans for voting in favor of the Violence Against Women Act. That pissed me off tbh. Edit: Oops, made a mistake here. Different person haha. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is campaigning in favor of Jason Kander in my state today. Politics - Lovely Linda - 14-10-2016 Trent Lott was a Senator from Mississippi. He was pushed out of the Senate because of a toast he made to Strom Turmond on his 100th birthday. It was said the statement was only to make a old Senator (ST) feel good. The statement was not meant to attack anyone but the Dems pushed it to the limit till Trent decided to step down Mississippi liked Trent alot. I did too. I was hoping he would not give up but that was the kind of man he was. He did not want to stir the pot. Even though ST was not politically correct neither was Robert Byrd who was at a time a member of the John Birch Society. Needless to say Byrd was not attacked for that. This guy? http://www.biography.com/people/strom-thurmond-9507157 He was a segregationist and my family is interracial, so he wouldn't welcome my family's diversity. Interesting that he had a biracial daughter. Sorry, I do not respect nor believe in what this man stood for. Can't say I give a crap about Trent Lott, it's not like resignations are all that uncommon. Good riddance. Politics - Lovely Linda - 14-10-2016 Well that's another site that does not support my browser. I'm so sick of IE!! I have a interracial family too. Trent and Strom came from a different era. Trent apologized for his comments but that was not enough. Trent spoke before he thought. My point also was Byrd stayed in the Senate. Trent was not a bad person. I guess he was just raised wrong but he did try to make things right. He went on BET to explain. I completely understand your feelings Oceansoul.
