RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 02-08-2025 WHAM! "the best of wham!: if you were there" cd 1997 from Lynne's cd collection a compilation, their second. one of the best pop bands of the 1980s and George soared even higher as a solo artist iMO pretty hard to go past these songs for an all round uplifting fun time love most of this and like the remainder, rates around 2.4 which means I LOVE THIS ALBUM RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 04-09-2025 PRINCE "batman" (OST) another one of Lynne's Prince albums that i had never heard his eleventh album originally released in 1989 i do own the "batdance" single, that outstayed its welcome by 1990 IMO LOL anyway, the rest of the album isnt too bad but it is very nondescript at best lots of voiceover samples from Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson and Kim Basinger (the stars of the movie) only song of any real substance is his duet with Sheena Easton which i love album would score around 1.8 which means I LIKE THIS ALBUM favourite, the duet with Sheena: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 29-09-2025 IAN DURY "4,000 weeks holiday" 1984 from Lynne's vinyl collection his seventh of eleven i own a couple, Lynne owns a couple the title refers to the average lifespan of a human music is poppy, funky, and danceable lyrics are typical of his cockney style and vocals are in his thick accented Essex twang i think Ian Dury is becoming one of those "gotta be in the mood to listen to" artists for me that said, there was nothing overly bad on the album but likewise i just didnt really over enjoy it i guess a fair ranking score would be 1.7 which means I LIKE THIS ALBUM (but barely) fav: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 04-10-2025 SHEENA EASTON "take my time" vinyl 1981 formerly from my sisters LP collection which she gave to me several years ago i cant recall ever playing this since ive had it cant even remember hearing it when it came out but i must have because we were both still living with out parents very average pop album IMO i do like her voice though the standout track is still the hit single album would score around 1.8 from me which means I LIKE THIS ALBUM favourite: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 04-10-2025 DEAD OR ALIVE "youthquake" 1985 from Lynne's vinyl collection all i knew from the album was the two hit singles "you spin me round" and "my heart goes bang" the rest of the album is in the same style. it was an okay album for what it was (electro-pop/dance) album scores 1,8 which means I LIKE THIS ALBUM favourite: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 06-10-2025 OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN "physical" vinyl 1981 from my sister's small collection given to me several years ago ONJ's eleventh album of twenty-six well that was God awful bad. was never a fan but she made 12-15 really good singles IMO only three tracks i liked, "make a move on me", the title track and "silvery rain" album scores a terrible 1.3 which means I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM what red blooded male doesnt like seeing ONJ in gym gear? answer, a gay guy but they get the tanned guys at the end LOL RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-10-2025 NO ALBUM COVER AVAILABLE CHAS & DAVE "dont give a monkeys" vinyl, 1979 from London, UK third of fifteen albums, i own three. theyre a boogie-woogie, cockney-knees-up, dance-hall duo lots of cockney rhyming slang throughout their songs and innuendos i'd like to say similar to Ian Dury but his music was more reggae tinged album scores 2.0 which means I LIKE THIS ALBUM RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 08-10-2025 ABC "the lexicon of love" vinyl 1982 UK pop band debut album almost blue-eyed soul stuff singles ("look of love", "poison arrow" and "all of my heart") were quite good sounded slightly dated now though rest of the tracks were quite blah... all up, probably easier than counting sheep to sleep at night album scores 1.5 which means I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 08-10-2025 A TASTE OF HONEY "a taste of honey" vinyl 1978 from Lynne's LP collection i remembered the name of the band but couldnt recall their songs. still couldnt after playing it either! anyway, their debut album of five, not sure how many she owns though lots of jazz, R+B and funk sounds throughout which makes it slightly more classy that regular disco sounds of the day i love picking these albums ive never heard because sometimes they are pretty good and this one scores a pass mark of 1.8 which means I LIKE THIS ALBUM the worldwide #1 hit: A Taste Of Honey Boogie Oogie Oogie my favourite: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 03-11-2025 MARK RONSON "uptown special" cd 2015 a revisit UK producer/DJ his fourth album purchased purely for the Bruno Mars track two other songs are just okay, the remaining eight crap album scores 1.4 which means I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM favourite (and absolute classic): |
