DRAG "the way out"
a side project for Aussie rockers Powderfinger....
been a fan of Powderfinger for years, never heard of this album or the band...
I figured for $2 what the heck!

JACKSON BROWNE "late for the sky"
I really don't own a lot of JB but I love his material,
this is his third album, it was originally released back in 1974

DAVID GRAY "the best of the early years"
I only own White Ladder, great little album so a compilation should suffice for now

NELLY FURTADO "whoa,nelly!"
her debut album, had this years ago but it has got misplaced
in the midsts of time...

ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN "songs to learn and sing"
a compilation covering their first five years(80-84)...
all I remember from these guys is 'the cutter' single so this will be interesting.

Something very atmospheric about that Jackson Browne album cover. Always struck me as an iconic image.

Yeah, they are just hard to get here. The Killers aren't that popular in Czech Republic unfortunately. But I really like this compilation. It has two new songs "Shot At The Night" and "Just Another Girl", which I really like. Might do a cover of the latter someday.

three from those I heard as 'new release' singles I posted a couple of weeks ago...(well, four actually, but the fourth hasn't arrived as yet!)

SHINEDOWN "threat to survival"
hard rock/metal band, loved the single, bought the album...
lets hope its not as bad as that crappy album cover!
will post it as a 'new release' in a couple of days after I give it a spin in the car

LEAVES' EYES "king of kings"
Scandanavian Goth metal....
love the almost operatic, almost Evenescence female vocals from the single I
posted last week...
I have YT'd a couple of other tracks by this band and I like what I heard...
lets hope a whole album does it for me....
again, will post it as a 'new release' over the next couple of days after I give it a whirl!

BACKYARD BABIES "four X four"
another I posted a single of last week....
like the alt rock-cum-hard rock sounds of the single and
thought...why not?....why not indeed!

a couple of more purchases today....

psychedelic furs "original albums series"
for $14.99 I picked up this mini-boxset of five Psychedelic Fur studio albums...
albums include: "the psychedelic furs", "talk talk talk", "forever now", "mirror moves" and "midnight to midnight"

killers "sawdust"
2007 release, a collection of B-sides and rarities from the Las Vegas band . Pulled from singles and import releases, Sawdust also features a pair of new cuts: 'Shadowplay' (their cover of the Joy Division track, pulled from the Control soundtrack) plus 'Tranquilize', their duet with Lou Reed which is the first single pulled from the album. Island.

and finally:

boy & bear "limit of love"
third album from these Aussie alt-folkies...
loved their debut, liked their second album and really like the first single
to be released from this set so I couldn't resist it.
