interview with Lou Reed/Metallica on MTV-Mastered with Molly
interesting in the way they collaborated for the "lulu" album...not convinced though that it is worth getting, sounded pretty 'messy' to me??!
but you got to hand it to Lars and the boys, they always seem to be trying something different nowadays, whether that means they have run out of ideas or whether they are just broadening their horizons, i have no idea??!

Documentary on Much Music ,,,Evolution of Heavy Metal...very interesting as it linked metal music to Wagner's classical pieces...that at the time were played very loud and were intended to shock the audience even back in the 19th century !!!!...also jazz influences ala the bombastic drumming of Buddy Rich, influence of the Kinks' You Really got me, even Dick Dale(surf music guitarist)...on and on....there are a lot of musicians that do not play heavy metal that can intelligently analyse it ...as James Marshall of Marshall amps did as well as a Sun Record rep ...single Rocket 88,,,used amps that had holes punched through them by mistake to get that "fuzz tone" !!!!
Also interviews with Jon Lord, Bruce Dickinson,Rob Halford, Iggy Pop, MC5, Kiss, Ray Davies, and Tony Iommi detailing jazz riffs in song Paranoid !!!..one of the best and intelligent music documentaries I've seen in years !!!!
