So glad you enjoyed that concert in a smaller setting. Mr. Earle has held his demons to a draw without being doctrinaire to others about it. Has a great son who's doing good music also (Justin Townes Earle).

They haven't been talked about but we are receptive to new-to-us musics. Could you post some info and a tune or two from each? It would be appreciated deeply. You will get a response...most likely positive.

You didn't specify from where * and these guys call themselves without shame Indian so...

* One of the best Salsa bands is from Finland and there's 2 great Reggae bands from Japan--music is worldwide and you never know who will be affected/infected/soon detected.
NOTE: if you mention a band, please link to an album cut or perf--"each one teach one" is the order of the day here.

Evidently Sr. Santana feels the same way (refreshed with new talent, natch): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKv5-rOIY_0 << One of the better dirum solos you'll hear... and a hip shot by the organist too.

Off to see The Manfreds in concert on July 4th....

Both original lead vocalists are part of the band in Paul Jones and Mike D'Abo who replaced Paul at the end of '66...
Including Jones are four of the five original members of Manfred Mann,
Therefore it is Manfred Mann IMO.....

Jerome may be interested in this one as he's a big fan if memory serves me well....

Emmy Lou Harris was here last week but I didn't go to the show.....

Absolute fave reviews from the critics here, she apparently sounded as good as ever.

just got home from The Manfreds' gig in Perth....
five original members of Manfred Mann including vocalist Paul Jones, plus his replacement vocalist(after he quit the band in 1966) in Mike D'Abo.....
played most of their hits including my favourite "come tomorrow".....
also in the mix was two tracks D'Abo wrote back in the day....."handbags and gladrags" and "build me up,buttercup"....
Paul Jones also sung his two UK solo hits "high time" and "ive been a bad,bad boy"....
both vocalist were very good, and I know im biased towards their earlier material, but I think Jones just just pipped D'Abo with honours tonight....
they were selling double live cds of their current tour entitled "live, four, three, two, one", that title is a play on words of one of their early singles "five,four,three,two,one"....
if you bought the cd you could have a meet and greet/signing after the gig....
as Paul Jones is one of my musical idols I had to do it and I had my photo taken with Mr.Jones, who incidently, appears to be a very down to earth guy....

all up, a fantastic performance from one of my favourite bands from the 1960s.....
my score?......4/5.

so Paul Jones/Manfred Mann have been marked off my bucket list with only two more artists left on it....
any takers?........

The Kinks(if only Ray and Dave could sort out their crappy attitudes it may happen one day!)
and.....
Crosby,Stills,Nash & Young(I have seen CSN also seen NY, but I want to see those guys on the same stage at the same time!)
