Thanks for this clip,J! Simon Phillips is a great drummer like some many others....Bonham, Buddy Rich, Jack DeJohnette, Elvin Jones, Ginger Baker !!!!...etc. It leaves me in bewilderment how they have so much stamina, along with arm,wrist and hand strength. Years of practice I guess. I can't say whose the best in anything (except in one category...) but that would be revealed in my last post decades away !!!
I lost touch with Mike Oldfield after I bought the Tubular Bells record, I have always wanted to get into his music further , now I will, He has an incredible band. Too bad they don't play in front of 100,00 fans or do they ? Probably at a large festival...Glastonbury perhaps ?
What's Simon Phillips' background ?

I have long been a fan of many of the above , Lindisfarne's earlier folk music is excellent( I saw them back in 1978 in Birmingham UK and there were wonderful)...........
Fairport and Icons and I have connections with one of their number.
Linda and Richard Thompson are awesome ...............Richard has sessioned on so many things and is excellent on all.
Renaissance are favourites of mine from years back .
Rondellus I know nothing of and will look into those.
Many of these link up with one of may all time favourites Magna Carta.............sadly I can't post much of Magna's work as they have been largely removed from youtube but try this :
