I read the news today, oh boy! - Jerome - 04-01-2017

another year brings another round of doomsday prophecies for us all to shake our heads at as to why it even makes the news!

I never bother with these doomsday dorks. Malachy and Nostradamus were the only two that got anything near right. One thing I will say, I can foresee huge growth in the USA this year. Might be wrong but that's what I see happening this year. Time will tell.

Ah okay. I found a news source on it from Germany so it might be accurate.

The zombie apocalypse is already here, I think. *hides in bunker* :tongue:

Also, a huge growth of what?

I have Mein Kampf.
bought it in the early 1980s along with Karl Marx "communist manifesto", was interesting in knowing what they were all about...
both books had interesting ideas, but as we know, ideals get quashed when power gets in the way ala Animal Farm

I can understand why Germans are obviously flocking to it in droves, they, like the rest of us are sick and tired of the unwanted influx of
people into our countries,
so the purchasing of that book is another thing Merkel is responsible for IMO...

BTW, Hitler received a Nobel Prize (was it a peace prize???) prior to WWII,
he was also one of greatest leaders the world has ever seen....until hatred got in the way of what he was trying to do.

Hitler was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 1939. He was never awarded one though.

thanks for that Ocean, I remembered that act after I posted the last post and was about to edit it till I saw yours...

and although Hitler/NAZI's invented/created so many things we take for granted nowadays they have been overshadowed by
the atrocities he inflicted on the world over that six/seven year period...

ive been to Dachau, the concentration camp in Germany, it still sends chills up my spine when I think about it to this day..
when you walk through the entry gates there is a distinct change in atmosphere, its cold, eerie and you can smell death all around you,
I think everyone should visit those old concentration camps to get the smallest sense of what happened in them,

as Paul Weller sung in "my ever changing moods" in 1984 with The Style Council

Daylight turns to moonlight, and I'm at my best
Praising the way it all works, gazing upon the rest;
The cool before the warm, the calm after the storm;
I wish to stay forever, letting this be my food
But I'm caught up in a whirlwind and my ever changing moods.

Bitter turns to sugar, some call a passive tune
But the day things turn sweet, for me won't be too soon;
The hush before the silence, the winds after the blast;
I wish we'd move together, this time the bosses sued
But we're caught up in the wilderness and an ever changing mood.

Teardrops turn to children, who've never had the time
To commit the sins they pay for through, another's evil mind;
The love after the hate
The love we leave too late;
I wish we'd wake up one day, an' everyone feel moved
But we're caught up in the dailies and an ever changing mood.

Evil turns to statues, and masses form a line
But I know which way I'd run to if the choice was mine;
The past is knowledge, the present our mistake
And the future we always leave too late;
I wish we'd come to our senses and see there is no truth
In those who promote the confusion for this ever changing mood

(youre probably too young to have even heard that song or anything by TSC, but you've heard me
mention Paul Weller on the forum hundreds of times)

heres' the uptempo pop version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtFlbz136m8

they also did a piano ballad of the song on their debut album, I prefer this version because
the lyrics are in the foreground more and deserve to be heard,

The atrocities of Hitler and the Nazis were monstrous. I will never understand what some people are capable of doing to other human beings. Chilling.

These songs are really sad. :frown: I'm not familiar with Paul Weller's music.
