Here's that and another soul classic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBVgVABsf-4 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP-UNSv4DLs << Mark Farner may have been sneered at by the hipsters, the cognoscenti, but he was and remains an underrated and powerful force.

Jerome Wrote:Roxy Music's live version of 'Like a Hurricane' from 'The High Road'

Bryan Ferry et Cie. don't do anything that they don't do well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXoSiL8eiIQ <<extended live version with some gorgeous soloing
Not for nothing but here's a live EP from the album--if it gets Jerome's positive attention, it DamnSure gets mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xowEfSQnHg

Jorn Lande's version of Edge of the Blade, originally by Journey
Gamma's (Montrose) cover of Mickey Newbury's I Wish I Was
Warning by Black Sabbath on their first album, from Aynsley Dunbar's Retaliation
Pattison Schenker's cover of TYA's I'd Love to Change the World
Bryan Ferry's version of Jealous Guy (John Lennon)
House of the Rising Sun by Frijid Pink
All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix - definitely better than Dylan's first version
Norwegian Wood by Nektar - good but not better than The Beatles
Hello Hooray by Alice Cooper, covered previously by Judy Collins
Manfred Mann did so many, but Captain Bobby Stout (live) is one of my favourites
Connection by Montrose, a Jagger Richard song
Nazareth's cover of Tomorrow's My White Bicycle (Steve Howe and Keith West)
Deep Purple's version of Joe South's Hush, re-recorded with Ian Gillan
The Stranglers' interpretation of Bacharach's Walk On By
Golden Earring's live version of The Byrds' Eight Miles High
Mott the Hoople's version of Jesse Colin Young's Darkness, Darkness with Mick Ralphs on lead vocals (from the Brain Capers album)
Judus Priest's version of The Green Manalishi, not better than Peter Green's but a fair effort
Baby Please Don't Go by Budgie, blows all the other versions out of the water
Neil Young's Ohio by Welsh band Sassafras with great guitar playing from Dai Shell. I heard this before the CSN&Y original.

i doubt whether many(if any) member here apart from Music Head and maybe SteveO would have heard this sublime cover of the Beatle song "help" recorded as a powerful ballad by Aussie rock icon John Farnham in 1980...awesome stuff IMO, and way better than the original version!

I see you were so overcome with emotion you forgot to include links to the songs. Care to recover now and do us right?
