What Did You Buy? - oldies65 - 13-07-2015 I was at the thrift store and picked up...soul to soul-the temptations.. like in love- nancy Wilson. What Did You Buy? - jazzboCR - 13-07-2015 ...And some more stuff: Nat King Cole Radio Rarities 1942-1948 Sergio Salvatore Always a Beginning George Gershwin Gershwin Play Gershwin--the Piano Rolls Doug Cameron Different Hats John Pizzarelli Our Love Is Here To Stay Tony Bennett with Count Basie Some Pair Pat Metheny Secret Story Earl Klugh Whispers and Promises Lee Ritenour/Larry Carlton Larry & Lee Paul Winter Canyon Peter Cincotti eponymous Charlie Peacock Kingdom Come The Ink Spots Java Jive Dennis Marcellino and Mark Stefani An Evening to Remember Frank Sinatra Sinatra Sings Rodgers and Hammerstein Michael Feinstein Isn't It Romantic? Artie Shaw Begin the Beguine Charles Mingus The "Priceless Jazz" Collection Tony Bennett Perfectly Frank To be crass: There is a decided advantage to living in a place where folks live their last years--their heirs want nothing to do with the stuff and donate it all for the tax advantage. So yo' boy scoops up the bargoons... What Did You Buy? - Jane Ashy - 13-07-2015 Why not to use external media driver or just clouds??? If your collection of CDs would disappear due to fire or rain or any other thing... lol. How would you listen to your favorite tracks then?.. )) The Endless River by Pink Floyd & other albums that are constructed as linked pieces.....Yes, I listen them fully. Why not to create some folders to keep & listen such albums separately? Thus TrackRack http://trackrack.org/ is a reasonable choice. Even for old music fans ;-) jazzboCR Wrote:You are free to do any legal thing you wish and I'd be in the front-lines defending you BUT what if there's a cloudburst or the stick goes missing or you suffer a nasty computer crash? What happens to the music? Do you often go back and listen to what''s been DL'd last year? Also some albums aren't just some tunes thrown together; they are constructed as linked pieces, designed to be heard in order--do you keep such albums together? It seems music is being increasingly splintered and commodified. Partially because of this, music has faded meaning unless you go to the alternates, the margins. Which fortunately are thriving and info about them is too. The mainstream is becoming way too bland and predictable--is that where R&R and other formerly outlaw music has wound up? I specifically include rap. What Did You Buy? - jazzboCR - 15-07-2015 The answer to Sistah Jane Ashy's sort-of question--The cloud can dissipate; the list of my CDs in a lockbox won't. I will get compensated if my house goes up in a cloud of smoke. Hard copy with a list kept seperatly is always preferable to the ephemeral. Next question? What Did You Buy? - jazzboCR - 15-07-2015 Some swans among the ugly ducklings; Great pickings at Sally today--spent $74; got $140 in listings and the other terrif music for free. Sherrie Mariale and the Diva Jazz Ork--Live in Concert Karen Brown I'm the Entertainer Flip Phillips A Melody from the Sky Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes Night of the Wolverine << Bro CH is gonna know these guys Al "Coffee" McDaniel A Special Blend Chris Hopkins Daybreak Keely Smith CheroKeely Swings The Metz Family Metz'n Around Gipsy Kings Allegria << First pressing Pirates of the Mississippi Heaven and the Dixie Night What Did You Buy? - Vishal Pawar - 15-07-2015 In 2008, I bought an Thriller 25th anniversary in 2008. It was so special album to me. Because at that time saved money to buy Michael Jackson album. These days I can buy albums. What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 15-07-2015 Books x 2 - The latest edition of 'Mind Over Matter' - The Images of Pink Floyd - stunning book! and Carlos Santana's autobiography 'The Universal Tone'. Will keep me out of the pub for a while......... Next question? It's sounds at least strange 4 me 2 keep music in a lockbox like the dearest treasure of mine. Lol I wonder what size of a safe it should be to keep thousand of albums or million of tracks )) The music I download from http://trackrack.org/ belongs 2 me the same way your CDs belong 2 you with the only difference: I don't need a lockbox to keep my music in, cause the tracks are anyway safe on my pc, in my mobile & stereo system. That's why free music downloader is my choice, dude. What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 17-07-2015 Busy reading 'Mind Over Matter' - amazing how Storm came up with ideas for album covers - a true visionary. What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 17-07-2015 George Harrison - Thirty Three & 1/3 â vinyl. Itâs been popping up here and there during online investigations, and staring at me from the front of the record store stack (great artwork â a gatefold with pics of all the musoâs and a sunny image of George) ⦠so â I caved, and bought it! |
