What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 11-07-2015

^Pat Benatar actually had/has a great voice and she was very lucky that Neil Giraldo (they married after a few albums) ended up playing for her; he’s a fantastic, undersung guitarist and musician. She always seemed to have had a high quality backing band which I would imagine is a lot to do with Giraldo. Not that I’m an expert – hadn’t listened to her in years – just particularly noticed when I picked up Crimes of Passion in a fit of nostalgia recently, and then listened to some more. Enjoy!

What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 11-07-2015

Crimes of Passion is excellent and as you say Giraldo is one amazing guitarist. Watch some of her live DVD's/shows. CH if you like those two by Cat Stevens, try Foreigner and Catch Bull at Four as well (his 'zen' period).

I rarely buy albums anymore unless I see a good one from a yard sale. The last one I bought that was new was Lynyrd Skynyrd's Leave a Whisper. Last one I bought period was Michael Buble's Michael Buble.

I like Elle King! Maybe she really isn't a pop star in the Top 40 scheme of things? Her music is unigue and not really pop hit material! She has a voice of her own and she is a country rock artist for the most part! This mini concert is great!

Amy Grant House of Love
Vonda Shepard It's Good, Eve
Sarah Brightman The Andrew Lloyd Webber Collection
Sarah McLachlan Fumbling Towards Ecstasy
Tracy Chapman New Beginning
Julie Gribble Echoes in My Head
Dar Williams My Better Self
Patty Loveless Only What I Feel and The Trouble with the Truth
Cassandra Wilson New Moon Daughter
Corinne Bailey Rae eponymous
Beth Hart Screamin' For My Supper
Nanci Griffith The Last of the True Believers
Liz Phair Whip-smart
Shawn Colvin A Few Small Repairs
Joan Armatrading What's Inside
Annie Lennox Medusa
Lucinda Williams World Without Tears
Sheryl Crow eponymous
Tracy Chapman Matters of the Heart
Lee Ann Womack There's More Where That Came From
Melissa Manchester Tribute
Meredith Brooks Blurring the Edges
Angie Stone The Art of Love & War

Avg. cost = $1.75, thus I'm up to speed for about $40
More titles soon...
