An impulse buy today - John Martyn - Sapphire - busy listening to it at the moment - seems OK so far.

What Did You Buy? - jazzboCR - 20-04-2015

When I post on an artist or group, if I've bought something recently, there's the phrase present--"skin in the game". But I'll consolidate:

Chris Smither ^^ Still on the Levee << 2-CD career retro
JD McPherson ^^ Let the Good Times Roll
Corey Stevens ^^ Albertville << Covering Albert King brilliantly
Billy Gibson Band ^^ eponymous *
D. A. Foster ^^ The Real Thing << Lotta chat about this guy lately...for excellent reasons
Cassandra Wilson ^^ Blue Skies
Sabertooth ^^ Dr. Midnight << An excellent live recording at a premier venue
Connie Francis ^^ Where the Hits Are
Don Covay And The Jefferson Lemon Blues Band ^^ The House of Blue Lights
Bad Influence ^^ Live at the Bad Habits << Features Whop Frazier and Junior Tash

* That means the band name is the record's name--not to be insulting...

Just being nosy here but....

How many vinyls/cds do you own Jazzy??

What genres besides jazz does your interest hold??

And do you buy digital copies also(ie:itunes)???

Not nosy at all--Bro-to-Bro honest enquiry. But first the shameful admission: 90% of my CDs are copies I burned and sold the original...which most times was a used copy. So:
No vinyl at all--they wouldn't have survived the journeys; hard copy CDs and DVDs only--nothing so ephemeral as a download, etc. About 3000 CDs and 800 DVDs. I plan to stake out some turf here pretty more skosh' and list them.
Well as my intro says, I'm a big lot about Black or Black-derived music but will range far afield for a music that touches me. Earlier C&W styles, yes; modern Black music, no. A solid take on my interests? Scan the Forums and see where I have posted--I spend no time spewing negativity so if I post, there's a positive reason.

thanks Jazz...
3000 is pretty impressive whether theyre 'burned' or original...makes no difference to me,each to their own,
i personally prefer originals with the cover sleeves and lyric/info sheets, i like to read them each time i play a cd...

FATHER JOHN MISTY "i love you, honeybear"

Father's second set, i really liked his debut solo effort "fear fun",

lots of acoustic material with some Beach Boy-ish harmonies in places

and finally.......

GUNS 'N' ROSES "the spaghetti incident"

stupid name for an album, even worse cover art, but its pretty hard to go past Axl and Co
as decent rockers(especially their ballad type material)....
been meaning to pick this one up for a while now, and at $6.99 it was impossible for me to not get it
to complete my GnR studio collection on cd.

Hardware - a Korg Radias synth - which is now out of production but I managed to locate one in good condition in Japan. Will be here in a week. About 750 USD with shipping which is not bad.

and a Roland System 1M modular synthesizer - not released to the market yet but will arrive sometime in June/July. I think this one came in at about 500Euro or so.
