my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-09-2013 TIM FINN "crescendo" b/w "six months in a leaky boat", "show a little mercy" 1989 the other Finn brother.... bought this one purely because the "b" side "six months..." was an acoustic version of the Split Enz classic done as a duet with younger brother Neil... "show a little mercy is also an acoustic track, the "a' side, not a bad song but i wouldnt have purchased it had it not contained the duet with Neil Finn... single only spent a week on the charts back in the day peaking at #97 "crescendo" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjwKB2oKlgg audio "six months in a leaky boat" ** no link "show a little mercy" ** no link my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-09-2013 DYNAMIC HYPNOTICS "soul kind of feeling" b/w "the last to know" 1984 a soul/blues/jazz outfit from Australia, had a few singles but this was their only real hit... "a" side is still quite catchy and sounds okay(which i was surprised with), "b" side is alittle more bluesy and still sounds okay... this one hit the top10 peaking at #5 when released "soul kind of feeling" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk0tkZrPxks video "the last to know" ** no link available my "singles" collection - SteveO - 11-09-2013 Crescendo is very good...thanks Crazy! my "singles" collection - SteveO - 11-09-2013 First listen and I like it! Sort of a Smokey Robinson feel! CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:DYNAMIC HYPNOTICS "soul kind of feeling" b/w "the last to know" 1984 my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-09-2013 ah yes!, Smokey Robinson..... i was struggling to find a comparrison for those Hypnotic guys and you nailed it for me, thanks SteveO my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-09-2013 BRUCE FOXTON "freak" b/w "writing on the wall" 1983 debut single from the ex-Jam bassist Foxton... "freak was written after he saw Elephant Man movie...musically it is quite heavy, "b" side is a lot slower, took me ages to like that one, single failed to chart here, but probably worth a listen for something different if you havent heard it before "freak" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY2bxkxhEMY tv performance "writing on the wall" ** no link available my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-09-2013 FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD "two tribes" b/w "one february friday" 1984 from one of my favourite albums from the 1980s.... brilliant single from Holly Johnson and the lads....think i do prefer Relax over this one, but i still love it..."b" side, piece of crap... single made it to #4 on the charts back in the day "two tribes" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTOQUnvI3CA video "one february friday" * ni link available my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-09-2013 SPITTING IMAGE "the chicken song" b/w "(ive never met) a nice south african" 1986 Spitting image was a UK comedy tv show back then, they used puppets and were often politically incorrect, their subject matter was more adult(ie, politics).. this was a christmas single, the "a" side takes the piss out of all those stupid singalong songs with stupid lyrics that emerged on the charts around the festive season. "b" side takes the piss out of South Africa because, well because it was in a state of Aparthied back then, so this one would have been extremely insulting i guess single failed to chart here, but did get to #1 in the UK. "a" side is a lovely ditty done in a very vaudeville type way... "b" side is a fiddle based instrumental... single reached #8 here in the charts "day trip to bangor" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8WiPy1xSkw live "peel the tatties" * no link my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-09-2013 BILLY FIELD "bad habits" b/w "you'll call it love" 1981 Billy was a session muso in the 1970s,occasional producer, enginerr etc, this was his debut solo single...very upbeat jazz sounds happening here, not his best single, but still ok single made it to #4 on the charts here...
