Be careful, Trace !!!!
We are supposesd to get Irene's remnants late Sunday sometime, hopefully just windy with rain. What kind of dog have you ? A lab ?...I'm guessing since they get along well with kids.
I have a little rugged shih tzu (see my avatar) and he'll go anywhere anytime with me through the woods, hiking, swimming, winter trails, etc, !!!
Right now at 0930 it's showers but supposed to clear up later with a high of 22 (that's about 74 fahrenheit). Tomorrow 24(76 degrees) and sunny !!!! We'll see what Sunday brings ? They said that there's a 2 percent chance that the eye of the hurricane will pass through Halifax ! Hope not as Hurricane Juan was devastating in September 2003 !!!

Nah we have a little mini dachshund. The kids love him. My Dad and I used to have a shih tzu when I was a teenager. He was a pain in the butt but we loved him. He looked a lot like your little guy, cute.
The storm seems to have cleared us already. I hope it dies out before it hits anyone.

Dachshunds are cuddly, loveable and stubborn
We like ours and wouldn't be opposed to getting another one some day. They always seem to come in pairs. It's not a very strong storm but they just aren't prepared for storms up there. A category 1 or 2, even a 3 is no big deal to us Floridians but they don't have the same building codes as we do I guess. Just starting to get news of how they fared in North Carolina. No pictures yet but they've suffered some damage.

Heat, heat and more heat and humidity. I'm looking forward to it cooling off a little soon. I prefer the winter time as I live in the Sunshine state and we have beautiful weather all winter long and it's not too cold!
