Weekly Music Charts for 2017 - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-05-2017 UK albums chart for week ending 26th May: ![]() Ed Sheeran has done it again - his record-breaking album ÷ has returned to Number 1 on this weekâs Official Albums Chart.Edâs third studio album logs a tenth non-consecutive week at the summit, toppling last weekâs chart-topper Harry Styles, who slips to 2 with his self-titled debut. ÷ has not dropped out of the Top 2 since its release three months ago. Meanwhile RagânâBone Manâs Human maintains its grip on the Number 3 slot. The fastest-selling male debut album of the decade has not left the Top 5 since its release 14 weeks ago. Two new entries round off this weekâs Top 5: Linkin Park score their eighth UK Top 10 album with One More Light at Number 4, while Engelbert Humperdinckâs marks his golden anniversary in music with a Top 5 record, 50. 50 is Engelbertâs highest charting album since 2004âs Number 4-peaking His Greatest Love Songs. New entries and high climbers: Synth-pop legends Erasure enter at Number 6 with their new album World Be Gone, the ninth Top 10 LP of their career, while Blink-182âs new deluxe version of their Number 1 album California reaches Number 15. The Kooks impact the Top 20 at 18 with The Best Of So Far, as do Papa Roach with Crooked Teeth (20 - their fourth Top 20 collection. Fellow rockers Rammstein land at Number 27 with their live album Paris, one placing ahead of Jethro Tullâs reissued Songs From The Wood (28). Finally, Ariana Grandeâs Dangerous Woman rises 32 positions to Number 30 in the wake of the Manchester attack that occurred following her show on Monday evening (May 22). The track currently sits atop both the US and UK singles charts. Moving up seven spots to #10, Niall Horanâs second single âSlow Handsâ becomes the former One Direction memberâs second top ten on the ARIA Charts, following on from âThis Townâ (#5 Oct. â16). Further down the chart, there are new peaks for Charlie Puthâs âAttentionâ (up 11 to #19), Cheat Codesâ âNo Promisesâ (up seven to #27) and Jonas Blueâs âMamaâ (up ten to #29). Following Chris Cornellâs passing last week, Soundgardenâs âBlack Hole Sunâ (#6 Aug. â94) has returned the top 50 at #49. Debuts: #11: Liam Payne Feat. Quavo âStrip That Downâ â Liam Payne becomes the final One Direction member to release a solo single, making his debut with âStrip That Downâ. The track was co-written by Ed Sheeran, among others, and features Migos member Quavo. #13: Selena Gomez âBad Liarâ â American pop artist Selena Gomez picks up a second Singles Chart entry for 2017 with âBad Liarâ. The follow-up to the Kygos collaboration âIt Ainât Meâ (#4 Mar. â17) samples the bassline to Talking Headsâ 1977 single âPsycho Killerâ. #37: Katy Perry Feat Nicki Minaj âSwish Swishâ â Ahead of the release of Katy Perryâs Witness on 9 June, âSwish Swishâ becomes the third track from the album to chart. Featuring Nicki Minaj, it follows on from âBon Appétitâ (#35 May â17) and âChained To The Rhythmâ (#4 Feb. â17). #38: Imagine Dragons âThunderâ â âThunderâ is the second single to be released from Imagine Dragonsâ forthcoming third album, Evolve. It hits the chart three months after the albumâs first single, âBelieverâ (#33 Feb. â17). #43: Logic Feat. Feat. Alessia Cara & Khalid â1-800-273-8255â â Two weeks on from debuting at #25 on the Albums Chart with Everybody, American rapper Logic scores his first appearance on the Singles Chart as a lead artist with â1-800-273-8255â. Logic previously appeared on the chart with Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons and X Ambassadors on the track âSucker For Painâ (#7 Sept. â16). #45: Camila Cabello âCrying In The Clubâ â The first solo release from former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello. Itâs the first track to come from Cabelloâs forthcoming solo album The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving.. Following the passing of Soundgarden and Audioslaveâs Chris Cornell last week, seven albums featuring the acclaimed songwriter and vocalist have hit the ARIA top 50: Soundgardenâs Superunknown (#7), Badmotorfinger (#27 â a top 50 debut), King Animal (#33) and A-Sides (#47), Audioslaveâs Audioslave (#8) and the Cornell solo albums Songbook (#21 â a top 50 debut) and Higher Truth (#46). At #10, Blink-182âs 2016 release California returns to the top ten for a fifth week following a new deluxe reissue of the album. California hit #2 on debut last July. Lower down the chart, there have been moves up made by Drakeâs More Life (up eight to #20), Kaleoâs A/B (up 13 to a new peak at #29) and the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack (re-entry at #41). Debuts: #3: Linkin Park âOne More Lightâ â American rock band Linkin Park score their eighth top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart with One More Light. The groupâs seventh studio album comes three years on from The Hunting Party (#3 Jun. â16) and includes guest appearances by rappers Pusha T and Stormzy, as well as electropop artist Kiiara. #9: Pierce Brothers âThe Records Were Oursâ â Melbourne folk duo the Pierce Brothers take out a new peak on the ARIA Albums Chart with EP The Record Was Ours. The follow-up to Into The Dirt (#10 Oct. â15) is their third top 50 entry and is the first in a trilogy of EPs the band plan on releasing in coming months. #18: Papa Roach âCrooked Teethâ â With their ninth studio album, American nu-metal band Papa Roach pick up a new peak on the ARIA Albums Chart. Crooked Teeth is the bandâs fourth album to chart in the top 50 and is the follow-up to F.E.A.R. (#29 Feb. â15). Their previous peak was with Lovehatetragedy (#19 Jun. â02). #21: Chris Cornell âSongbookâ â This live album by Chris Cornell was originally released in 2011 and was recorded during MarchâMay of that year during Cornellâs solo Songbook Tour of the US. It features material from his solo career, tracks recorded by Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple Of The Dog, as well as covers of John Lennon and Led Zeppelin. The album previously peaked at #76. #24: Rascal Flatts âBack To Usâ â Country trio Rascall Flatts claim their second top 50 entry with Back To Us. Itâs the American groupâs tenth studio album and the follow-up to 2016âs The Greatest Gift Of All. Their previous chart appearance was with Rewind (#17 May â14). #27: Soundgarden âBadmotorfingerâ â Released in September 1991, Badmotorfinger was Soundgardenâs third studio album. It originally peaked on the ARIA Albums Chart at #78 in February 1994 and includes the Soundgarden classics âJesus Christ Poseâ, âOutshinedâ (#76 Jun. â92) and âRusty Cageâ (#80 Oct. â92). #35: DragonForce âReaching Into Infinityâ â British power metal band DragonForce score their third ARIA top 50 entry. Reaching Into Infinity is the groupâs seventh album and the follow-up to Maximum Overload (#48 Sept. â14). Their peak on the chart remains Ultra Beatdown (#19 Sept. â08). The record for most weeks at Number 1 for a foreign language single was previously held by vocal jazz group Manhattan Transfer â their 1977 hit Chanson DâAmour logged three weeks at the top. Only nine other foreign language singles have reached Number 1 in the Official Singles Chartâs 65-year history. A combined sales total of 37,000 was amassed across the week to take it back to the top. Sgt Pepperâs has now spent 28 weeks at Number 1 on the Official Chart. The record is also the best-selling studio album ever in the UK, and the third biggest selling of all-time, behind Queen's Greatest Hits and ABBA Gold, having sold a huge 5.2 million UK copies in its lifetime. Paul McCartney said: "Wow! Who would have thought that good old Sgt.Pepper would be back at number one 50 years on? It's great news and all of us are well chuffed. Pepper rules!" Sgt Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band is also Number 1 on this week's Official Vinyl Albums Chart, and shifted more copies on vinyl than on digital download, with 5,300 units sold. Two Oasis albums scale this week's Official Albums Chart Top 40 in the aftermath of the Manchester attack and the debut of frontman Liam Gallagher's first solo single. The Philadelphia-born rapper previously appeared on the chart as a featured artist on the Migos track âBad and Boujeeâ (#34 Feb. â17). #42: Maggie Lindemann âPretty Girlâ â Texas-born artist Maggie Lindemann makes her ARIA Singles Chart debut with âPretty Girlâ. The Fab Fourâs 1967 psychedelic masterpiece receives the deluxe reissue treatment to mark the 50th anniversary of its release. On release in Australia in July 1967, the album spent 30 weeks at #1 between August 1967 and March 1968. It hit #4 in June 1987 when it was first released on CD to mark its 20th anniversary and peaked at #16 when the Beatlesâ entire remastered catalogue was released in September 2009. The soundtrack to Fifty Shades Darker has moved back up 20 spots to #21. Adam Harvey & Beccy Coleâs The Great Country Songbook Vol. II has jumped up eight spots to #37. As her tour in support of the album pauses, Ariana Grandeâs Dangerous Woman moves up eleven places to #34. Debuts: #2: Bernard Fanning âBrutal Dawnâ â Less than a year on from Civil Dusk (#2 Aug. â16), Bernard Fanning returns with Brutal Dawn. Itâs the former Powderfinger front manâs fourth solo album and fourth to chart in the top two. Civil Dusk and Brutal Dawn make up a two album series. The former returns to the chart this week at #35. #3: In Hearts Wake âArkâ â Byron Bayâs In Hearts Wake score a third top five on the ARIA Albums Chart with Ark. The bandâs fourth album equals their Albums Chart peak reached with previous release Skydancer (#2 May â15). #9: Frenzal Rhomb âHi-Vis High Teaâ â Sydney punks Frenzal Rhomb score their first top ten on the ARIA Charts with their ninth studio album, Hi-Vis High Tea. Itâs the quartetâs first album since Smoko At The Pet Food Factory (#14 Aug. â11). It takes over from A Man's Not A Camel (#11 Apr. â99) as their highest chart peak. #12: Bryson Tiller âTrue To Selfâ â American R&B artist Bryson Tiller makes his ARIA Albums Chart debut with True To Self. The album is Tillerâs second studio album, following on from 2015âs Trapsoul. #18: The Teskey Brothers âHalf Mile Harvestâ â The debut album from Melbourne band The Teskey Brothers. Half Mile Harvest was released in January but is only now hitting the chart. The band will be touring national through June and July. #26: Caitlyn Shadbolt âSongs On My Sleeveâ â Gympie country artist Caitlyn Shadbolt picks up a second entry in the ARIA top 50 with Songs On My Sleeve. The singer-songwriterâs debut album comes two years on from her debut self-titled EP (#50 Aug. â15). #27: Elvis Presley âThe Wonder Of You & If I Can Dreamâ â This double pack brings together both albums posthumous Elvis Presley albums recorded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Both have previously charted individually: If I Can Dream (#1 Nov. â15) The Wonder Of You (#3 Nov. â16).
