I read the news today, oh boy! - Oceansoul - 29-12-2016 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:the only way to understand the world IMO is to travel, theres only so much you can learn from books or documentaries, and even less to be learned from the news on TV!I agree, there are many places I would love to visit. I read the news today, oh boy! - CRAZY-HORSE - 29-12-2016 Jerome Wrote:I have seen cheetahs in captivity - they are extremely nervous animals - don't like the glare off sunglasses for one. Also seen the REAL mountain gorillas in Cameroun - more human than humans - I kid you not. Was introduced to them by an American woman called Sheri (or Sherry) who was running a sanctuary near Limbe (old Port Victoria) with another American woman - they rotated - six months apiece looking after these HUGE mammals. Saw the elephants in Namibia - magnificent animals. Seen many chimps and baboons in many places. I have also seen pictures of 'princes' in the middle east driving around with cheetahs in their Lamborghinis - a total disgrace. These are not domestic pets. They are wild creatures who belong in the wild. I would love to see a tiger in the wild - of all the creatures on the planet they fascinate me the most. And the most fascinating one is the Amurian Tiger. Incredible how they survive in those incredibly harsh conditions. Something for the bucket list. that is so awesome Jerome, would love to visit all of those places to experience half of what you've seen there... BTW mate, I would assume youd be a fan of the David Attenborough documentaries on TV? as you know, I ive seen a lot of Europe (some bits I loved, some I hated with a passion)and of course, the Southern US States. Holland, Belgium, Spain and Portugal were my favourite Europe locations, wasn't too keen on France or Germany though... loved Malta and Morocco also. even though Morocco is Nth Africa is has more of a Mid-East vibe with the food, people and general culture... would love to visit the ancient civilisations of the Myan's, Inca's and Aztec's one day, along with Egypt, New Zealand and British Columbia I read the news today, oh boy! - Jerome - 29-12-2016 If I had the means I would do nothing BUT travel. It really broadens your thinking and exposes you to so many things you otherwise would never have experienced. I have a huge bucket list - probably will not get through a tenth of it before I croak but I am working on it. One of them is a hot air balloon journey through the Grand Canyon. Another is a rail journey across Russia. Walking the whole of the Camino De Santiago - about 800km. I would have to take a sabbatical from work to do that one. The list is endless. Yes I do have the Attenborough series. Amazing footage. Ah well, we can but dream. I have visited many places over the years but there is so much more to see and the time is running out......... I read the news today, oh boy! - Jerome - 29-12-2016 Debbie Reynolds dies 24 hours after her daughter. Sad indeed. I read the news today, oh boy! - Jerome - 30-12-2016 Proof that fools and their money are soon parted - https://uk.news.yahoo.com/fan-starts-crowdfunding-protect-actress-212207496.html I read the news today, oh boy! - Jerome - 01-01-2017 More proof that the so-called 'artists' aren't even singing at all anymore - https://uk.news.yahoo.com/mariah-carey-suffers-lip-sync-snafu-years-rockin-060342880.html I read the news today, oh boy! - CRAZY-HORSE - 01-01-2017 Mariah has a long history of lipsyncing and/or having autotune added and being caught out, there was a time several years ago when she was performing supposedly live on one of those US early morning news shows, GMA or similar. she was singing live and was terrible, couldnt hit the high notes or hold a tune and members of the audience happened to be recording it... some of those audience members were also recording the show on their video recorders at home, when they compared the two recordings it apparently sounded like the original studio recording to those watching at home, perfectly in tune etc, I remember there being a pretty big uproar from he fans at the time over it... BTW, I cannot recall the song, and im not going to look for it because I cant be bothered, but Neil Young has a song on his latest album where he has used autotune, not because he needs it/needed it, but because he is showing how dramatically it wan alter a persons voice... the track is obviously a deliberate protest against the use of it, or he is showing everyone that he normally doesn't use it and if he did this is how he would sound... no MH, its not that stupid Robot song, its one of the others mate. I read the news today, oh boy! - CRAZY-HORSE - 04-01-2017 YAWN YAWN!!! another year brings another round of doomsday prophecies for us all to shake our heads at as to why it even makes the news! http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/world/mysterious-rogue-planet-on-collision-course-with-earth-could-destroy-all-human-life-in-2017/ar-BBxRPhZ?li=AAgfYrC I read the news today, oh boy! - CRAZY-HORSE - 04-01-2017 not sure if anyone cares or not about Charlie Manson but I do, as MH knows, I have a fascination with Serial Killers, not that Manson ever killed anyone, but he was the leader of a cult that killed people under his direction, but anyway, Charlie(82) has been rushed to a Californian hospital for an undisclosed illness... heres the report from CBS-News: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/charles-manson-alive-amid-report-hes-hospitalized-official-says/ I read the news today, oh boy! - Jerome - 04-01-2017 The No.1 selling book in Germany last year (2016) - Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf (first published in 1925) - ??!!?? |
