I knew it. Now they are saying on FOX that Trump may not be able to build the wall.

Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-08-2016

Well, I kind of thought a "Non Politician" would not be a complete liar.
Guess I was wrong. I gave him a chance to prove himself to be different.
He is hurting himself on the last lap. (Hubby used to work in the pits  )
I have to say though I really don't like the idea of a wall. I don't think that would solve the problem.
He was not going to put a wall all the way across the border anyway.
And, I know Mexico will not pay for the wall.

I'm not surprised, tbh. Even if Trump had been serious about the wall idea, it never would have come to fruition.

They all make promises to get elected! Once they're in they hope the public or media forgets about their dumbass promises! Happens everywhere in politics! Our PM promised to legalise marijuana..after 11 months...nothing. They'll say they're working on it and it needs a study or report...which translates ...forget about it you stupid losers.

 That one made me laugh Steve. Thanks!

So, CH What is the point of us to vote?
Do we just try to stay away from the bigger liar if there is such a thing.
How can they say they care about America and obviously hate Americans.
They can't care if they look at us right in our face and lie.

Politics - Lovely Linda - 31-08-2016

btw, I got my comment fron The American President. Great movie!!

How do you have patience for people who claim they love America, but clearly can't stand Americans? Sydney Ellen Wade

It's the political candidates who make these promises. How else will they get elected if they don't appeal to the voters? Most people don't have time to sit down and intuit politicians intentions. I think some politicians make promises that are too big, or too unlikely to happen thus disappointing their voters.

If you are elected as President, you can't do whatever you want, pass this, repeal that, and act like a King or Queen due to checks and balances of power. In other words, presidential candidates can promise away, but that doesn't mean his/her proposals will pass the legislature. Look at our Congress and what's been going on there. So little business gets done due to political party disagreements and legislators who oppose anything the President wants to pass. Sigh.

Something that slots in with both a music forum and this thread as well -

'My choice early in life was either to be a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician. And to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference. I, for one, believe the piano player job to be much more honorable than current politicians.' - Harry Truman.

Politics - Oceansoul - 31-08-2016

^^ Hehe, honorable politicians are indeed hard to find.
