The most disappointing buy of my life, considering that I have been a lifelong fan, Pink Floyd - The Endless River. Everyone is raving about it but I just cannot believe they thought this was good enough to release under the banner of 'a new PF album'. The saxophone on one particular track is hideous. The rest is just a disjointed, patched-together mess - directionless, uninspired and quite frankly pointless. All right PF fans you can shoot me now.

I've heard a couple people toss out the idea that Steve Rothery's album "The Ghosts of Pripyat" is closer to Floyd than "The Endless River." You might want to check that out. I listened to it a bit on Youtube in a disjointed session but thought it sounded pretty good. Yet to listen to any of "The Endless River" though, so I can't really compare. The sample I heard from "Louder than Words" a while back turned me off a bit...

Anyway, to keep this on topic, I could spend $45 on ink at Staples or $22 on it at Amazon. Went with Amazon. To get me over free shipping I picked up;

Funny thing is Floyd's video for Marooned is shot in Pripyat - the town near Chernobyl. Must give Steve's album a listen. Sounds interesting.

VARIOUS ARTISTS "the art of mccartney"

see my thoughts of this one in the 'classic rock' threads under 'new release'

there are two versions of this one, the 2cd 36 track edition and the 2cd/dvd limited box edition,dvd shows the making of the album...this is the one i bought.

not generally a covers fan but this one is pretty darn good overall,well worth it if youre a Macca fan!
