Afghanistan falls to the Taliban - bye-bye human rights, women's rights and every other freedom that might have once existed, albeit very briefly. So now we have one more dictatorship on the planet. This world is in serious trouble.

2: it certainly didnt take the Soviets 20 years to figure out they could not beat Insurgents and Guerrillas.
and Henry Kissinger once made this profound statement, and i quote:
“We fought a military war; our opponents fought a political one. We sought physical attrition; our opponents aimed for our psychological exhaustion. In the process we lost sight of one of the cardinal maxims of guerrilla war: the guerrilla wins if he does not lose."
