What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 09-09-2014 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:went to the local secondhand vinyl shop this morning and picked up a few albums, Like both those Moody Blues albums - fantastic music What Did You Buy? - SteveO - 10-09-2014 I agree...I love that record noise between the songs! I picked up a pristine copy of The Eagles Hotel California album! My wife has an infinite love of the song, unlike most of us!!!! ,,lol,,played to death on the radio! CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:sometimes you just have to do it SteveO...sort of gives us a "music reality check" of sorts! What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 10-09-2014 Your wife is right - the rest are wrong - it's an absolute classic - familiarity breeds contempt! Saw them in Birmingham - one of the most professional concerts I have ever been to - sound was pristine, performances impeccable and just one helluva great gig. Have you listened to 'Long Road Out of Eden?' HC was an elegy for the excess of the seventies. LROOE is a an elegy for the SUV generation. History repeats itself once again. What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 13-09-2014 Tracy Chapman - Our Bright Future What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 13-09-2014 is it any good Jerome? i used to have Tracy's first two albums but theyve 'disappeared' from my collection over the decades What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 13-09-2014 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:is it any good Jerome? Busy listening to it at the moment. Very laid back. Nothing outstanding so far but I was looking for something low-key today. Not bad, but certainly not up to her debut's standard. What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 13-09-2014 her debut was mind blowing first time i heard it....pure honesty and genuine feeling in those songs.... strange thing is with that album... it was released some nine months prior to her "live aid" performance, and it was only after that 15 minute performance that it sold in huge quantities another album that did that was the Guns n Roses "appetite for destruction"..... it sold something like 200,000 copies worldwide in its first year.... record company boss David Geffen couldnt believe it wasnt selling, thought it was the greatest hard rock album ever, so he went to MTV and had to beg those guys over there to put the "welcome to the jungle" video on the show 'even if you put it on at 3am,i dont care, people need to hear this stuff".... anyway, MTV played the video at 3am in the US one night, got so many calls to play it again and again...and the rest is history, its one of the best selling albums of all time now, and IMO, up there with AC/DC's "back in black" What Did You Buy? - SteveO - 13-09-2014 Nice one J man! I love Tracy! What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 15-09-2014 i picked up three albums on cd this morning by Sara Bareilles.... i'd never heard of her(or cant remember ever hearing of her) until a few weeks ago when i saw an ad for her tour here(ie: tickets going on sale 'ad)... so i thought i'd investigate her further on wiki and youtube.... i either liked or loved what i heard from her four album releases and sought her out at Tem's store... they didnt have her debut album but they had the most recent three including last years 'the blessed unrest'...not sure how i missed that one last year though? the lady has a real good voice, sort of somewhere between Christina Perri and Kelly Clarkson possibly, and i like both of those artists... so,here they are..... "little voice" "kaleidoscope heart" "the blessed unrest" What Did You Buy? - Music Head - 15-09-2014 ^^ I've hyped Sara several times here one of the few classy female pop stars out there I have Kaleidoscope Heart in my unopened stack good buys mate |
